Will Sunday be the last NBA Finals game that will ever be played in SA?

stupid thread, but i'll respond.

as long as we have great ownership, which we do, then we'll have more chances at the Finals. it won't be easy without Duncan. I imagine we'll be similar to teams like the Nuggets or Spurs pre-Duncan, compe ive teams, getting close and with a passionate fanbase. If the fanbase ever quits on the team, then the Spurs would probably relocate. But the Spurs are a huge part of central/southern Texas so I don't see it.

Regardless of whether or not there is another Finals in the Spurs' future at some date uncertain, I sure do hope that the home crowd gives them a standing ovation for the last ten minutes of the game, no matter who is ahead or what the score is. We should send them away with the biggest baddest THANK YOU that any team has ever seen.

I doubt it. If the Spurs become terrible, they could always win the lottery again and draft the next Tim Duncan. Not saying its likely, but after striking gold twice in a ten year span I definitely wouldn't rule it out. Top that off with the success San Antonio has had later in the draft picking guys like Manu, Tony, and Kawhi, and I have little reason to doubt they will continue to contend.
