To give a serious answer, the problem I had wasn't the speech technique, but the content. His mindset seems to be, if we each individually give our all, that's what's needed. In basketball, teams beat collections of individuals, if there's a reasonably close ability balance. The theme should be that we have to work TOGETHER. Teammates have to TRUST each other, and feel like they're part of a greater whole. They have to realize that NO ONE will succeed unless EVERYONE contributes in accordance with the plan. It took Jordan several years of failing to win before he figured this out. It's not about superhuman 150% individual effort.
Another example is LeBron's post game reaction on Sunday. It was all, "I have to play better". I didn't hear anything about the TEAM.
Not attending college made possible an early blossom, but it also comes with costs (same goes for my goddess)
