Culburn with the goods in this thread.

Upstairs is a mess. Between the Splitter contract and Manu returning they are all lined up shoulder to shoulder, swords in reverse in front of them preparing to fall on them.

They had it won. It was truly over. Not that goofy "a call here, a rebound there" malarkey. That series was over. They're going to mirror it, start back down & finish it.

James is too leaky a vessel to put faith into. If he crosses over and claims his mantle it will be apparent and we'll all bow down in unison. But, that ain't where it's at this morning. And Popovich knows it, his players, the NBA rank & file know it. It's wide open.
    Good .

I like the 2 year deal but I think they overpaid just a bit. I'm not sure how much cap space the Spurms have left, which is why I'm crying out to God for RC to amnesty Boner.

Since when did the Spurs become dumb - first the Splitter overpay, now this?

If I were Buford and Pop, I'd have sooner let Turnobili walk to Houston and hope his unclutch turnovers could sabotage their team in the playoffs instead of paying that much to keep him, tbh....

    It was a 50% cut. That's significant.

Every big man in the league is overpaid except for Timmy, that's just how things are nowadays.

Ray Allen has a 2 year, $6.3m contract. He took one for the team. I don't know why manu couldn't do the same so we could go after a decent role player. #amnestyboner

I really wish he would've taken 5 million a season, those extra couple million could've help nab us a decent FA.

What is our cap situation now with Splitter and Manu making a combined 16 million next season? I hope we amnesty Bonner

Damn, that's more positive than anything I've written since the Finals. Props Cully. The team and Pop must realize by now how beatable the heat are, even though we blew it. If Manu gets a fair deal then I think everyone is dead set on making it back.

edit: just saw he's supposedly making 14 mill for 2 seasons. I don't know. Guess it is time to amnesty Bonner.

$5mil was asking for too much, but god damn. Wonder if there's a possible trade in the works? Spurs should realize they do actually need a few tweaks to contend the next year or two, rather than just bringing everyone back like they did last year. Maybe they truly think Leonard and Green can bring that much more to the table next year?
