If GS needs capspace for dwight, Dallas needs to make an offer for Bogut and/or Barnes right now.
With that Iggy contract, not quite sure if clearing Bogut/Barnes would be enough to outright sign Dwight. They will likely need to S&T those guys to LA to have any shot I think.

Terrible argument Mono. Getting to the finals beats wasting prime superstar years with no shot at all.

Dallas. While Dwight was not as great of a prize, he would have meant a lot in Dallas next to Dirk.
couldn't get it done against the heatles.

2011 or 2007, which is more recent?

dwight in sucks, i feel sorry for the team who signs him to a max contract. dude's contract will be an abortion as soon as he's 31-32

The luxury tax would ass the Lakers. Not saying that matters a whole lot but the mavs at least need to make an offer.

Very true and that is the decision for LAL if Dwight is leaving. Are the players in a S&T worth paying that mega luxury tax and eating up possible cap space next year? It's a tough question when you look at it in that light but there are also a lot of factors. Keep in mind, things change fast. So if they do the S&T, they could always flip Bogut, amnesty Metta and trade Pau and really lessen that Luxury Tax blow. It's complicated decision making.

Don't laugh, he's a huge pickup imo. He'd lead the Mavs to a lottery pick

i'd rather than a gamble on bynum other than any other option at this point. anyone else available on the market can only lead us to 30 win ecstasy tbh, bynum is the only one with a huge reward albeit at a high risk imho.

this is good news if they just chill and go out and make smart moves..just keep the cap space there's no rule that they have to blow it all right now. but if they go out and sign monta ellis to a max deal etc then we really are ed for the next 5 years..kind of ironic because they blew up the team to not overpay guys and kill our future but may end up doing so anyway.
This right here. Detroit ed themselves giving big deals to Ben Gordon and Cancer Patient. If we were gonna overpay then I would have preferred to do it on keeping a le team intact and making a proper run at defending a le.

Bynum I would only be comfortable giving a one-year deal. He's averaged like 50 games a year for his career.

tbh, with the shortened season it would have really played right into our hand too being an old team and all. the only thing worse than not defending your le would be not defending your le then going out and signing a bunch of guys to terrible contracts ensuring that we don't defend any more les any time in the next decade.

Honestly the only guy they really needed to bring back was Chandler. Barea's loss hurt too but they could have found a cheaper solution for the skillset that he represented.

looks like it's gonna be another year of going nowhere for Dallas. Dirk is probably gonna say fuk it during the middle of the season and just quit. Dallas will than tank for wiggins and probably end up with the 13th pick in the draft with their luck.
