bruh...i still jam this cd to this day.
ESG and Hawk were my fav's out the SUC. ESG's intro to city under siege
My love...have you ever seen a...candy coat Excursion...
I was boss hoggin...we at the bayou classic...I was boss hoggin...when I didn't file for no taxes...
Beat that album to death too.
My cousin and I did a little something back in the day. We had a guy that was pretty well connected and we opened for Hawk, Lil Flip and Swishahouse at a club in Longview. Was only for a short period of time but it was fun while we did it. Paul Wall was just getting started back then. He couldn't freestyle for live.
Yes. All the SUC vid's posted are classics. Here's a newer classic..
My cousin used to chill w/ Paul Wall before him and Chamill' blew up. Back when he used to swang in a ty ass Honda. Here's the track he did w/ Paul Wall and Kyle Lee..
Yup. This was a real rap battle. E couldn't rap for but he was real and went for the throat w/ his lyrics. Love the line where he talks about Dre' being a "she thang" on his own album cover and it cuts to the pic from the WCWC album..
maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayne
Most Texas rap was getting old at that time with the same played out non sense. Talking about the same over and over.. Sip lean, swang a lac, sip lean, eat at Pappadeaux, sip lean, pop trunk etc. It was cool in high school though. That's why Chamillionaire is dope. His music evolved quite a bit and he switched up his concepts. And I'm sorry.. Unless you're a teenager I don't understand how you can listen to the current mainstream stuff. It's horrible.
Drake is musical AIDS
gotta agree with the white boy from san antone, you must have went to roosevelt or madison. chamillionaire's fan base was always white boys, mexicans and corny blacks. i never was a fan of him but he's cool.
the texas scene had a lot of variety. what you're describing is the swishahouse freestyles, but the actual albums had some classic songs. texas rap fell off when everybody turned their back on lil flip during the beef with t.i. flip put the entire city on his back and gave the other artists a platform to shine and they dropped the ball with that dumb beef, flip included. pimp c tried to spit game to the youngin's but it was too late.
Trill, why you avoiding the fact you like whack Drake?
2 Chainz. LMAO. that's Indian right thur. Stands with a fist. Kicking bird.
i'm not avoiding it, i love drakes music. nothing wack about him and i'm willing to hear why people find his platinum selling songs wack.
I like that called Roachford. Cuddly Toy was greatness. Fresh sounding but with a nod to Motown.
yea before he turned mainstream, his moniker was "roachdawg". the was one of my favorites before he made that song ' es on my 24/7' using autotune
you have ty hair
Taft actually.. NW. And you have to bring up race in every single discussion don't you? You're calling a lot of black people corny as well as Cham. He's probably the strongest lyricist from Houston and would've destroyed TI if he was on Flips situation. But I agree.. Beef in Hiphop was getting extremely corny especially when the artists suck.
So are the Backstreet Boys whack? THey went platinum too. Britney Spears must be legit too. Kenny G' keep's it real. Creed is absolutely one of the greatest bands ever. N'Sync revolutionized the game.
, easily.
Always gotta bring up a legend from the past lol. Are we talking about the scene today or the scene 20 years ago?
All you said was strongest lyricist from Houston...and I gave you Houston's GOAT...nothing more, nothing less. No one went harder than Scarface.
In Face's era, sure. But the game has evolved and he ain't the best from the Houston anymore. That's like fools saying Rakim is still the best on the east coast.
Rakim is still the Master, period. Does Paid in Full being released over 25 years ago change the fact it's still one of the best hip hop albums out there? No.
