The problem is that SpursTalk is too mainstream now, tbh..

The past year or 2 has been the worst influx of posters that I can remember, tbh..too many new posters trying to be edgy, but failing miserably, in addition to their ty basketball takes, tbh..too many s stealing shticks and running them into the ground, tbh..

When a forum builds a reputation for being a ruthless jungle, a lot of soft outsiders want to join the war, tbh..

Replacing the top posters that now post less frequently with the new class of atrocious posters that post consistently is a problem, obviously, tbh..losing s like Ghazi, Jamstone and even that -ass GBS hurts, too, tbh..

    aww Harlem misses me.

You know, you forgot to mention one other thing. Even the good posters over the last few years have been less willing to get into long, drawn out but true basketball discussions. Even before the heavy troll days, what made the ST NBA section great was that there was really great basketball discussion. Tons of interesting topics and takes that got a variety of good posters into long and drawn out debates with pages and pages and essays and essays of back-and-forth responses. I have rarely seen that in the last 3-4 NBA seasons. Even the good posters that have stuck around have been less inclined to do so. I know I have. Maybe we're all just getting older or more aptly growing out of long messageboard posting. But it's not really there anymore. When the troll days took over, the NBA section shifted. The development of the "krews" and everyone trying to keep up with rogue and mono and Harlem to outwit and outclass each other with trolls to the point there were too many trolls and way too many bad trolls. And then the forum delved heavier into fanbases of each team just talking to each other. And yes, the quality of the forum precipitously declined. There was a short time period probably around 2005 to 2008 where there was almost a perfect balance of quality basketball discussion, fanbase to fanbase talk, and entertaining trollage.

I'm not sure where the forum stands today. But it sure as ain't close to where it used to be.

We have had a LOT of great discussions over the years, but I'm thinking that it's simply gotten to the point for many of us OGs that there simply aren't many good debates left to be had at this point, without either A) being repe ive, or B) being stupid.

Because this ain't your home. You belong over at LG.com where every topic is about how much better Kobe is than he's getting credit for.

Losing that guy Culburn hurts most of all, tbh. I'm not gonna pretend to like that guy though. My rogue likes him but I'm indifferent. Culburn isn't the best poster that I have come across on spurstalk, in my mind the best ones are Pussyface, Rappin' Shaq, Marcus Bryant etc... just to name a few. His writing may be 2nd to none but the internet still seems too fresh a thing for a 60 year old man, after all.

With that said, Culburn is still one of the top active posters on this board, tbh. I have no idea what the happened to him that he hasn't posted for about half a week now, which's quite abnormal for a top contributor who usuallly makes 30+ posts an average day, or at least 20 posts even on a thin day. If there's another pe ion to beg him back, I'll sign my signature on it out right, tbh.

Too many new posters trying to make their mark on the trolling game have diluted the quality of the NBA forum. Sometimes it's just better to stay in the tech forum because the content there is not irritating on the eyes. Half of the threads in the first 10 pages of the NBA forum aren't even about basketball per se anymore and that says a lot. However, I admit that I also have been guilty of such. We need to collectively clean up the NBA forum if we want it to be like before. No single person or crew can do it. It has to be a majority of NBA forum posters.

^ I've also trolled a bit in the NBA forum and everytime I trolled I felt guilty as if I just got done masturbating. The atmosphere here is not good, which I often use to excuse myself, but as an old-school member I still believe there were better things I could've done than join the stupid frivolous debates with those trolls, imho. You don't need to behave in their same stupid way to show them how stupid they are.

Such guys like Pussyface and Midnightpulp were treasures of this forum because they never needed any hysterical trolling to own those dumbasses, they could easily hunt down dumbasses and expose them with their pants down using their patented ingenious sarcasm.

It's been difficult dealing with the collaboration and execution of Rogue's story. His love affair with this young girl seemed to captivate me. I'd seen it thru the prior months but when I came back after the Finals it drew me in deeper until I made the effort to write about it. Then his lodging of her picture on the wooden chair opened a path to bring a (center) to the story, a link between characters. Now I see where he has pursued her in story form. I wrestled greatly with the ending of our story. I could not have her take him on as say a "roadie" just to have the proverbial happy ending. I thought of doing that, but, it would have been a cheat and ridiculous. There had to be loss at the end, and that total loss threw me into a depression. I walked around here teary eyed for days until I decided to write about Vegas and Kool again and that started out with fine comedy with the inclusion of this site and our pathology sprinkled about. Then I did the flashback to Niagara Falls in '80 and I hit an emotional funk again. I've been working on that, my most personal work since I left the site a few days ago. I couldn't stay here and do this site justice and write my story and do it likewise. I wanted to explain this before I left, but, I procrastinated about it, like I do a lot of things in life, and let the moment drift away.

I've been struggling with the mingling of fantasy and reality as I wrote for Rogue, for his passion for this girl and his Rogue's romantic core and nature. And I discovered we're brothers of different mothers and that discovery affected me as well. This struggle between fantasy and reality continues now as I write about 1980. It's like playing with fire. I'm not so sure where I'm going here.

I don't know when I'll be back. But, I owed an explanation and though I've struggled thru this one, at least it is something.

You guys are all fine chaps. Love and hate between sapiens if our most vibrant condition and so we'll struggle on the minuscule edge between these two factions until the end of time whether it's here or in the world.

Thank you, Cully. I'm really delighted to learn that you're still staying around, albeit not posting as often as you used to. Sometimes I also feel it a waste of time to argue with those immature posters. Outwitting them verbally doesn't give us no feeling of achievement, or anything.

I was so deeply absorbed in your story, as well as mine, that I couldn't help but continue with it. I'm bulging with the love for my goddess and I need an outlet for it, which writing gives me. I just can't let the story die as long as my love for her is still alive.

And I reallly feel honored to see my name mentioned in the same line with yours, Cully, my friend and mentor. I know my writing skills are limited and nothing compared to yours, but I still continue to write the story anyways. Like I said even before I started writing it, I only write it to entertain myself, to make myself feel happy, which means a lot to a lifelong celibate that hasn't got any real pussy. Other people can share the story with me if they also have the pure/unselfish love for Scarlett, or anyone else in the real world, but sadly I've got only 2.5 persons who seem to be appreciating my efforts: Cully my mentor, my m>s and that guy DMC. I'm not sure if DMC really loves my story or he's just trolling me as he usually does, so I only count him as 0.5 at this point of time.
