He was referring to being blamed for the site going downhill in the post he quoted...![]()
I know.
But most everyone WAS blaming him for why this site went down.
When he posts decent takes and/or opinions, whether he is agreed with or not, most of us acknowledge it. I know I do.
I have on many occasions, and the last time was just this week.
However, when he persists with saying the exact same thing (we know by heart now what that is) constantly, and over and over again, then it brings down the whole forum.
He made his point not only the first time, but every time, and in every single thread no matter what the topic of the thread was.
We read it the first time, and some of us agreed, in fact, even I agreed, but then after about the tenth time of saying the same exact thing, it gets irritating, and even if you wanted to sympathize, by that time you are ready to disagree on principal if nothing else just to get the guy to shut the up.
That invariably leads to him making the " or sucker" baseless accusations, and that tends to come across as rather insulting, which in turn leads to the bashing back and forth, which ultimately makes us both look juvenile and foolish.
You know of what I speak of because the same thing happened to you and I until we both realized that the only ones we were making a fool of was ourselves.
Skull, I am sincerely not trying to be insulting to you, rather, I am trying to explain this in as rational a manner, and be as non-flaming as I can be.
I get no pleasure insulting people. I prefer intelligent rational discussions and/or debates where all concerned keep open minds. That way we might both be capable of learning something, and maybe even something we never considered before.
Most of us do that here, we agree to be able to disagree without all the insults attached.
That is the classy way that I, for one, like to think we Spur fans are, and that sets us apart from other teams fans and forums.
For me, that allows me to gain the most information, which is why I come to any particular forum in the first place, and not to flame or show how good I am at casting insults.
You would be easier to read with some para spacing, PLEASE. My point was you tried to make him look foolish by taking him out of context. That happens all the time here and needs to stop.
I agree, it does happen all the time.
But I went back and read his post and the ones preceding it.
I saw nothing that I took out of context.
However, in the event that I did, and just don't see it, maybe you can explain.
I will keep an open mind.
And I will try to para space better in the future, thanks for the tip.
Saying "we didn't blame you for the Spurs' failures" when that wasn't his reference.
Skull, this, the bold part, is what I was replying to, and my bold part is what I said.
Is that taking it out of context?
If in your opinion it is, then how?
I took the last line in the TGY quote to refer to the sentence after EXACTLY...because of the post he quoted.
Ok, I see where you're coming from, but I still think my criticism is apt simply because no one was actually blaming TGY for what happened with Pop or Manu as he said in his last sentence.
Where TGY gets blame or criticism or whatever you wish to call it, comes directly from his obsession with Manu and Pop, and the obsession with the constant cramming that point down people's throats. That, and mainly that, IMHO is why he is blamed for screwing up this forum!
If, like most of us, he would have stated his opinion and then allowed others to decide for themselves, he might have found that most of us agreed with him to a certain extent. I did at first.
There have been lots of really good points made disputing his opinion, and there have been lousy ones made too.
My contention and accusation was his obsession with casting blame in every other sentence in his posts always said the same thing. It can only be an obsession because no matter how hurt or pissed off you are, too much is too much.
He, and others with similar viewpoints, would have been a whole lot more credible if he had stated his opinion no more than at the most a few times, but not in every single thread even when that thread had nothing to do with his contention.
And for sure, he should have left the insults at home. That convinces no one, the " s and suckers" comments, just because he was disagreed with. That is childish. And all that does is make others more steadfast in defending themselves.
Besides, it flat isn't the classy way to do things.
There are a lot of people who aren't highly experienced NBA coaches who would have agreed that taking your best player out of the game with 30 seconds to go in the finals wasn't a great idea.
That wasn't my point.
Your point implied that an opinion on this message board isn't valid if it doesn't come from someone with NBA work history. My point is that a valid take is a valid take. You're welcome to disagree, but it's pretty re ed to call out someone for not being an NBA GM, as I don't think one has ever posted on this website.
Still not my point.
lol
So many moronic posters on this forum.
Skull-1, The Great Yacht, Axegrinder, and Silverblackwanker form the Moron Brigade.
kobyz, phyzik, and houston spurs fan as honorable mentions. Probably should put SA210 in there as well.
Why aren't all these guys on my friend list yet? If you and dill hole playnan don't like them then that means they are excellent posters...
