We might have blew our last chance back to the finals unless something change. Good thing we picked up Josh Howard and see what he could do. If he proven himself from the d-league and picked up to the Spurs and could give us a solid 5ppg as a shooting guard, we will get back to the finals and finally win a championship. The reason we lost last year was because we didn't have another playmaker, i.e STEPHEN JACKSON. IT IS STUPID TO THINK JACKSON WON'T CONTRIBUTE OR MAKE ANY IMPACT IN THE PLAYOFFS. Popovich got too emotional with Jackson and did not think it through.

Everything as expected ... I still think we are at least 2nd best in the West, but in the regular season we could wind up in a lot of trouble ... if fate gives us more injuries than e.g. the Warriors a Top 4 seeding place is not given ...

He initially picked his top 5 in the West and when he omitted the Spurs, Chris Berman asked him what about the Spurs and he said, at some point they have to face the fact that they're old and they blew their last best shot in the last Finals. Now I know better than to get butt hurt over the sports media hating on us but this is one guy who's always had respect for the Spurs so it surprises me he'd pick us 6th. He's all on the Clippers' nuts and said the Warriors are his #5 over us. Oh well, his fat ass.
Most of the medias think 37 years old Duncan and 35 years old Manu are too old now. There's nothing hateful about that. Let's just hope that they're wrong one last time

Barkley is a contrarian. The last 2 years, he was hopping on the Spurs' bandwagon while the rest of the media was proclaiming us dead. Now that our Finals run has returned us to prominence, he feels inclined to pick against us, simply by virtue of the fact that more and more people are believing in us again.

+1. Most folks on this site won't know what a contrarian is but it describes Barkley perfectly.

I agree, at some point age will get to them. The Spurs can't maintain having tremendous seasons year in and year out. Eventually the Spurs will have to come to a point just like the Lakers are now. I'm just praying it doesn't happen too soon, people like Mills and McGrady deserved their rings, players like Duncan and Parker deserved another one.

What? Barkley doesn't think the additions of Ayres and Belinelli are enough to put the Spurs over the top? That settles it!!! Barkley is officially on crack!

I don't agree. Definition of valid (copy and paste): sound; just; well-founded: a valid reason.

If an astro physicist tells me that in his opinion, the next comet will easily miss the earth based on the data he's viewed and his education and experience, and some random dip on a forum says it will hit us based on nothing whatsoever besides what he just pulled from his asshole, his opinion is not "as valid" as the scientist's.

I don't know who started that terrible mentality that all opinions are somehow valid and equal, but that simply isn't true and never has been at any point in the history of the universe. Spurs were moments away from winning the le. . .now they're somehow a scrub ass team who won't even get home court and have been magically surpassed by five other teams (almost all of which they've beaten in the playoffs recently) after 0 games into the season? Opinions not based upon facts, reality, or common sense are not "valid" by definition.

Yeah, no argument here. His assessment is spot-on tbh. San Antonio is also a gold mine for Jalisco (insert spanish word(s) and number 1-99 here).
