    This is so stupid, tbh..

Shaq and Kobe would have 1 less ring without Robert Horry's shot in 2002..Timmy would have 1 less ring without Horry in 2005..Kobe would have 1 less ring without Fisher and Metta's heroics against Boston, etc..
Shame on you. LeBron isn't allowed to have a clutch teammate

I like discussing these things. Nobody wants to discuss 6 upstairs

the biggest chokejob in NBA history.
i don't know if it's the biggest chokejob though. we were the underdogs going into it, and we all knew it was going to be a dog fight. I guess we just didn't expect Manu to be as bad as he was. It's amazing we made it as close as we did when our secondary ball handler was playing like he was at the Buenos Aries YMCA. The East being better, the Heat being on their 4th championship run, and Spurs bringing in Marco to cover up Manu at times does give me some hope.

well the chokejob I'm referring to is Manu's the entire game 6 and the rest of the Spurs starting at 30 seconds to go in game 6. worst loss in history IMO

Without Ray Allen's 3, he choked away a le. Nobody will ever remember him missing that game tying shot because of Ray Allen.
probably because people remember more of the way that he singlehandedly got them back into the game, so that Ray's miracle 3 was even possible

or people remember the way he completely dominated from start to finish of game 7

probably because those things mattered more, as they spanned across over an hour of basketball being played, as opposed to one bad 30 second stint in the middle of it

Game 6 hurt more because it entailed game 7's inevitable outcome and whatever lebron was going to do given another chance

Great role players make big shots when their teams need them, tbh..
None of those carried the same magnitude as Ray Allen's shot. Horry tied the series in 2002 and the Spurs were never in danger of losing a series in 2005. The Lakers were up by 3 in 2010 when MWP hit the dagger and Kobe passed

Allen's Hail Mary was a legacy saver. Had he miss that shot, the series ends there. Lebron, averaging 22 ppg in 41% shooting would be 1-4 in NBA Finals.

everyone here has very good points tbh

    but let's summarize:
    - Lebron was choking up to 30 seconds to go in game 6. If you stop the tape right there and summarize Lebron's Finals, you say... LeChokejob.
    - Lebron did get some credit back in that game 7, but let's be honest, it was a game 7 at home, what visiting team has a chance especially since Spurs were already in shock from that game 6? Let's be honest and recognize Spurs were not themselves in that game 7, few visiting teams are.
    - Ray Allen, the best shooter in history put his prints in the series no doubt.
    - Ginobili... what else can be said. smh

Lebron been beasting for a while...

I think thoroughly dominating beta Durant in the first Finals he won gave him the last confidence boost he needed in the big stage.

This is his league now, tbh...

    Incorrect.

Lebron was an unstoppable force in the 4th quarter until the span of about 40 seconds left to 30 seconds left where he had two turnovers. The first turnover was bad and flat out a mistake on LBJ's part. The second turnover looked like it was an alleyoop pass to Chris Bosh who was wide open, but simply never even went for the pass. It seemed more like a miscommunication, but either way, it shouldn't have happened at that point in the game.

Lebron "choked" for 10 seconds of game 6, with plenty of magnificent play before, and an incredibly clutch shot right after, hitting a very key 3 pointer.

    - Lebron did get some credit back in that game 7, but let's be honest, it was a game 7 at home, what visiting team has a chance especially since Spurs were already in shock from that game 6? Let's be honest and recognize Spurs were not themselves in that game 7, few visiting teams are.
not themselves in game 7, despite the fact that they played well enough to be in it the entire game

fwiw i recall a team winning a road game 7 before, after an upsetting game 6 loss. back in 2006 IIRC... weren't the spurs involved in that one too?

disagree. 6 turnovers in game 6 almost matches Ginobili who pretty much lost all his fans because of it

they are professional NBA athletes, of course they will play well enough, well enough to lose. If you don't think the last 30 secods of game 6 changed the entire series, I don't know what to tell you

    Well... I'll always remember that.

The same way I'll always remember Tim Duncan's shot in 2004 that came before Fisher's shot. You can say it was overshadowed - but that really was one of the greatest shots of all time in its own right.

MJ had 3 straight games of 5 TOs in the Finals against Portland. He also had a monster 7 TO game, shooting 36% in game 6 against the Knicks that year, a game that they lost and allowed a game 7. Big whoop. They still won. Just like Miami.

they are professional NBA athletes, of course they will play well enough, well enough to lose. If you don't think the last 30 secods of game 6 changed the entire series, I don't know what to tell you
I don't disagree that there is momentum that plays into things. But that's what separates championships teams from non championship teams. The Heat could have curled into a ball and gave up after Parker traveled and hit that miracle shot to win game 1 and take HCA away from Miami, but instead they came out and dominated the next game, and eventually won the series.

never said it "never" happened. And I was referring to Finals game 7s
game 7s are game 7s. quit making excuses. SA simply lost to a superior opponent.
