Doesn't take much. And Kobe still wouldn't pass it.
Melo is way more clutch than kobe though, very dangerous.

Do it, Mitch!
Will they have enough money to do it after Fredo resigns Kirby for $120m/3 and Blake Mamba for $50m/2?
Kirbs will only get around $33m/per. So $100/3 or $130/4, just a bit more than half the cap.
Idk how i feel about melo, but it's not surprising that he wants to come here, let's just see who else will follow..
melo to LA will be a disaster. Especially under d antoni
Melo ain't coming with D'antoni there.
They didn't like each other in New York?
no. Melo got D'antoni fired.
For basketball reasons...
Pairing Kobe and Melo would be the most "Jim Buss" move imaginable. Basically, a combination of two lauded "superstar" players whose styles and skillsets actually overlap by about 95% and don't complement each other at all. If you don't see that Kobe/Melo is a perfect recipe for team-destroying locker room tension, you've clearly never watched these dudes play.
I hate Melo but it could work. He and Iverson had some success in Denver even as two of the most ball hog-ey players ever to grace the court.
Ara everybody on this site has been ting on Melo for a LONG time. This move would destroy the Lakers future as long as Melos contract lasts
Finally someone who can make a shot during crunch time in LA. Good for them.
And melo played with JR smith for a few years. He will know how to handle Kobe.
Same think you think we smelled when Howard moved across. How did that work for you?
If we could get all the overrated people on one team, we could focus on the game.
Personally it worked well for me
Throwin max level money at Melo is worse than giving it to Dwight tbh.
It's not just their overlapping game styles that make the biggest obstacle on the way to a possible success for this combo. Lebron and Wade also play similar styles of game but they had figured out a way to play together, and they even complement each other pretty well. Bron and Wade both sacrificed their own personal stats one way or another, to some extent, as well as their salaries in order to play together and to win championships, but there's no such motive for the hypothetic Kobe/Melo combo because Kobe already has 5 rings while Melo doesn't care about winning at all.
Kool with the signature goods tbh
I wouldn't go that far. H2H:
PPG: edge Melo (26.1ppg > 18.4ppg)
RPG: edge D12 (13.7rpg > 9.5rpg)
Now Howard has him in swats, but you would think Houston would be some sort of defensive juggernaut but they're not. Houston is next to last in the NBA, giving up 105.9ppg (v. Knicks surrendering only 99.3ppg). Melo's PER is higher as well.
Bottom line, Melo is basically giving New York 26/10 from his SF/PF position. That's big time. I'd gladly take that type of production on the Lakers. Especially as a stretch 4 in MDA's system.
Kobe and Melo? Yes, that is going to be a success. At this point, Kobe with anybody is a failure, hate to break to you ol' sports. I know you all love Kobe and think he is the greatest but he has been exposed as a cancer to any team. Shame, really.
Please tell me there's a video to accompany your signature.
