yeah. Sweep their ass lol
For me it would but it will need to be against the heat in the finals.
yeah. Sweep their ass lol
Last year is honestly devestating if you think about it, but I choose not to. I didn't look at NBA very much at all until august last year, it just stung. But winning it this year would more than make up for it. It would probably be our most emotional championship yet and, considering the advanced age of our big 3, probably our hardest.
That's a lot of talk for a tucker.
How does it feel knowing a "monkeyballer" will win the Super Bowl this year?
indeed!
TBH the hurt of game 6 will never go away but we will lean how to deal with it better as time goes on.
You are damn right, all the other teams of the 00's ARE LONG GONE NOW! We have it made.AS a fan know it will not and I admit it has faded some but it still stings when I think about sports. If it ruins your daily life or part of it you have problems though.
No, and a win is extremely unlikely as constructed, the other contenders are running a train on the Spurs if you haven't noticed, and Chuckbrook is healthy...
Give me 5. Than we can talk 6.
C'mon guys: I think that it's time that we stop feeling sorry for ourselves because the Spurs didn't win last year's Finals. I mean, it sucks that our team didn't come out on top, but that series was, as a pure basketball fan, an absolute joy to watch. When Game 7 ended, I was sad that the Spurs didn't win, but I was almost as sad that the series was over: I wanted more of Spurs vs. Heat awesomeness! I know that I'm not the only one on this board that has good memories from watching that series, and if you don't have the same feelings as I do, you still have four les to look back on fondly.
And as for the original question, yes, it would take some sting out; a le for your favorite team always does. I just hope that it's a Finals rematch.
Lol drama queens tbh.
Of course, without a doubt!
It may but still won't forget that Game 6. Even if we one next year, we'll still say that Timmy should've 6. Worst is, we may not win it next year.
Yeah I agree it's one of the painful loss in sports history. I wished Heat had blown-out the Spurs in Games 6 & 7. The fact that we are free throw and rebound away, it really can't get out of my head. I may be "emo" or "drama queen" but seeing Duncan losing like that, it breaks my heart. Spurs has been part of my childhood life. They always brings hope every year no matter, they teach us to believe despite of having big limitations. I learned how to love basketball because of the Spurs, heck in a way Spurs taught me how to play basketball fundamentally (because I'm not gifted in terms of athleticism). I even won individual awards in a amateur league because of them.

As opposed to you, QUEEN.
Wow...people are still whining about last season? It's just a game, get over it. At least the Spurs are successful. Try being a Suns or a Pelicans fan. LOL
Life has heartaches and joys. 'Just part of life. Experience it, learn, grow and show kindness to others along the way.
You guys are more heartbroken than the players. it is just a game and for the players is just a job, probably one of the best in the world but they won't die because they lost.
It was absolutely devastating. Duncan had 21 points and 21 rebounds. His last shot was the definition of clutch. Fishers shot shouldn't have counted. If Ray Allen needs .3 seconds to get a shot off how could Fisher get a shot off in .4 while needing to turn to get his shot off. Even though it was the second round, it was nearly as crushing of a defeat as game 6.
We would have taken a 3-2 lead heading to L.A. If we would of closed out we would have played Minnesota and Detroit (who we beat the following season in the Finals).
IMHO, last season's Finals loss wasn't as bad as .4 because the Heat were the favorites and they beat the Spurs fair and square. That "miracle" .4 shot in 2004 should not have counted. It was total BS. At least the Pistons assraped the Lakers in the Finals that year, so Fisher's shot ended up being meaningless for the Lakers in the end.
Funny stat I read on here a while back was that no team that beat the Spurs in the playoffs went on to won the championship. up until this June ofc
I cant speak for everyone but it has absolutely no effect on my personal life, but as a fan of the Spurs and of the game the sting is still there and will always go down as the most heartbreaking loss for the Spurs.
I Doubt that, for example it took Duncan awhile to get re-engaged.
.04 is noone's fault. we were cheated. if u look at that play frame by frame, they didn't start the clock until fisher had released the ball from his hands. in .4 seconds, he was able to catch the ball, turn around and THEN fade away. is impossible. go ahead and look at the play in slow motion. we would have gone up 3-2, won game 6 after that, beat the out of the timberwolves and beat the pistons..
I can't stop watching the end of Game 6. Last night I watched the last 5 minutes of regulation. Several things I noticed:
1) We had 5.6 seconds to drive full court and win it at the buzzer. Tim Duncan was wide-open running down the lane while Tony Parker was busy dribbling down to the corner and throwing up a prayer. Admittedly it would have been a risky pass to make, but if he had got it to TD, TD would have laid it in or dunked it for the Championship.
2) Ginobili shot his first free throw that he missed REALLY FAST when we were just up 3. On the second one, he took his time and drained it, but it was shocking to see how casual he shot the first one. Leonard missed his first free-throw too, but took his time, and didn't miss nearly as badly as Ginobili missed his. It was as if Ginobili thought we had already won...
3) Leonard HAD that rebound that the Heat eventually got and which led to the Lebron 3 to get it to 94-92. But Boris Diaw knocked it out of his hands. It's hard to be mad at Diaw for going after a rebound, but there's no way Leonard doesn't secure it if Diaw doesn't interfere. And it was Leonard's rebound, as he had boxed out Wade and was in position. Diaw came flying in from under the basket to try to get it.
4) Danny Green was under the basket when Bosh rebounded the missed Lebron 3 and kicked it out to Allen for the game tying 3. Basically, he just watched Lebron shoot and just stood there, not even thinking to box out Bosh or even try to secure the rebound.
5) Ray Allen DID travel on the game tying 3. He took 3, count em, 3 steps back to get to the 3 point line and get set. There's no 'technically' about it. He 100% did travel.
