lol nightmare scenario. unless the Cowboys get blown out 60-0 (which is likely) or something like that, Garrett will be coming back.

Cowboys are trying out David Carr, John Skelton, and Tyler Thigpen...of course Orton would start, but this really leads me to believe Romo WILL in fact not play.

Kyle figures he might as well save everyone the headache and hand the ball directly to a DB.

Doesn't count as an interception that way.

damn it. every thing was set up so perfect for a win win situation. if the da boys had won than romo would have finally ended the week 17 curse; if they had lost though of course garrett would be gone( at least we hoped). but now garrett gets an excuse from jerruh for one more year. cowboys

Nah no excuses for Garrett. With how awful this division is we shoulda wrapped it up last week and been resting starters.

Jerry Jones: Tony Romo 'might be cleared to play'

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones believes quarterback Tony Romo might be cleared to play this Sunday night against the Philadelphia Eagles despite Romo's back injury.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday that Romo has a herniated disk in his back, according to a source who spoke with the player. It's believed that Romo will eventually require surgery. Jones would not speak to the specifics of Romo's injury, but he left the door open for Romo to play in comments to The Dallas Morning News.
"All I'm saying is he has back spasms, symptoms that we're treating as we go along in the week to see if he will play," Jones said. "There is nothing structurally that will rule him out if he feels good and is cleared to play. Nothing.
"The facts are there is a lot of we can't comment on," Jones added. "But the most important thing is if he feels better as the week goes along, there is nothing structurally to prevent him from playing. He might be cleared to play.

Rapoport's source believed it was "unlikely" Romo would be able to play. If he can't suit up, Kyle Orton will start at quarterback in Dallas' latest "win or go home" Week 17 NFC East showdown. Coach Jason Garrett would not rule Romo out Monday.
"Obviously, he was able to play through it and play very well at the end of that ball game," Garrett said. "We evaluated it last night after the game and again this morning. He's getting treatment and the MRI was part of the evaluation. There's going to be a series of different things we do for his treatment over the next few days and see how he responds to it."
Romo's status could remain an open question until late in the week, which shouldn't come as a big surprise. Drama is what the Cowboys do best.

damn if romo plays ... he already has shown he has a high tolerance for pain in the past (breaking his ribs and puncturing his lung against the 49ers only to comeback in the 2nd half to lead his team to victory in overtime; and just this past sunday against the redskins playing with the bad back for the entire 4th quarter). I hope the coaches can protect him from himself, we need that guy for years to come, tbh.

tbh I won't hold his injury as an excuse if he chokes. If Garrett actually called the game correctly from the start, Romo would be relegated to a game manager...something he can do while being hampered by an injury, tbh...

I think he'll most likely play...It's something you can play through for a little while, but not for too long. But it would be stupid because if he gets hit hard he might not be able to walk off the field.

My guess is he'll try to play through it, but can't go any further because we have no idea how serious this is.

For one example, Dwight Howard played with the same injury for a month before they shut him down...It's something you can play through, depends on the severity. Football of course is a more physical sport, so if I was Romo, I wouldn't risk it.

Please for the love of God let the 'Boys sign Vince Young or Tim Tebow! Epicness would ensue.

Demarco Murray should get around 30 touches regardless of who is QB.

The smoke screen employed by Jones/Garrett is more pathetic than Clipper Nation's piggybacking of DoK every chance he gets

You guys are underestimating Kyle Orton

He made Brandon Lloyd into a superstar. Lloyd had 1500 yards in a single season. Even Brady couldnt do that.
He beat 15-1 Packers. They would have gone 16-0 if it werent for him.
He was on pace to break single season yard record. He was on pace for over 5000 yards before injuries slowed him down.

First, Orton was the guy who sucked so bad, he was replaced by Tebow.

Second, it doesn't matter who starts at QB for the Cowboys, because neither Romo nor Orton play D. Shady is going to rush for 200+ against that pathetic excuse for a defense.

    Iggles win huge. Book it.
