you still have people who'd take Malone, Barkley, KG over him so it's not really universal
Slapstick is slapstick. Hit or miss, and this time, it hit. Sweet spot, 500 over the wall.

Oh, and as far as the OP is concerned, it likely was 05. But the writing was on the wall when he shut down the forum and dropped trou on Shaq Diesel and co.
Don't worry Thread, it's water under the bridge now that Staples is constructed. Most people have forgotten that moment, but it lives on in the shadows of the subconscious occasionally resurfacing like a reoccurring nightmare.
2003 was when he surpassed em all. As far as the consensus? Probably came about later
Like I said earlier there were rumblins' very early on. It was a set up by Media like they set up Clifford Robinson up in Portland....Only difference::uncan fit the suit they'd taken off the rack at Wal Mart. Duncan was charley potatoes as the century turned. Robinson looked like mashed potatoes.
He shut it down cold, lights off. You cannot begrudge him that. Just as you locked the doors on a forum, Duncan ended the Forum.
It's just silly.
Stop qualifying les.
when Karl Malone retired without a ring imho
When he won a le, going through Shaq & Kobe, with a supporting cast consisting almost entirely of players either before or long past their primes. Once he got revenge on LA in 03 that's when the talk of him being the top PF all-time really started.
So 2004?
No way was it that late into his career.
TOSB with a double double at HT vs the twin monkeys
Not bad
Probably after this:
But this one was my favorite:
I would say after the spurs won the le in '05. Prior to that there was still a bunch of haters in the media who believed that he lucked out playing with Drob. A lot of them said he would never win a le again without Drob. So winning in '05 solidified that he was the greatest PF of all time.
The only thing Baseline missed was that he did it as MVP of the both Regular Season and the Finals. That helped CEMENT IT.
I'd say after the ruling GOAT PF said so (Barkley).
Who knew CWebb could have been the greatest PF of all time had he played under coach Pop. I wonder why he never asked for a trade to the Spurs.
In reality, Chuck, CWebb and Malone are equal as PFs: 0 and forever.
I say 2003 when he won his second straight MVP, second le, second Finals MVP, and one of the best single seasons in history (much like last season for James).
