Does California Pizza Kitchen still exist? If so, they'd probably be my choice. Haven't seen or looked for them in years, though.
Sizzler, John's Incredible Pizza, and Golden Corral, off the top of my head.

Outback is the McDonald's of steakhouses.
I love BJs brewhouse. Every time I go there, I need to get the pizookie.
They exist here in SA. They remind me of the Panera chain---looks good when I'm ordering but when I get it my reaction is "It's good but I can't believe I waited that long and paid that much for it". But no one else seems to think so.
They are here in Texas wherever malls get big tax breaks to get built.
Have two friends that work/used to work at Red Robins, one in the kitchen. After the horror stories he told me about it I'll never eat there again.
Idiots work in restaurants everywhere, if you or anyone you've eaten with has given the staff a hard time, you've probably ingested spit or worse.
this newer chain has popped up in DFW, its called mellow mushroom I believe. its a stoner based Pizza restaurant. pretty in good although the wait can be 25-30 min. they let you know that upfront tho, everything is hand made and prepared.
So I need to get out more... because of my personal preference? I've been at nicer restaurants.. but Outback is still my favorite.

This is my favorite in my area. Assuming you mean the Outback Steakhouse.
Contrary to posts 2 and 3, I like Applebees, and don't care for Chilis. At least in my area.
I like Chuy's, but when I'm done there I always feel like a fat slob.
Can someone explain to me what the difference is between Chili's and Applebees? Does one of them use lower quality cheese in their poppers?
This is such an IM thread. I can just see him wearing a tie and taking his date to a fancy restaurant like Chili's.
And it works for the girl.
For example:
Chili's = hand breaded chicken strips
Applebees = frozen bagged chicken strips
My girlfriends and I enjoy lunch at Applebee's. No complaints.

I guess I didn't realize we were talking fast food. Whataburger is definitely tops in that category. Zaxby's is a chicken joint in the Southeast that is ridiculously good...one ups Raising Cane's. Fazoli's is fast food Italian with awesome breadsticks.
But yeah, Whataburger is tops.
Oh and if you're willing to spend $200+ on a date at an a la carte joint, my choice is Morton's of Chicago...best steak I've ever had, great atmosphere, good wait staff (at least in SA).

And I know I'm gonna get scoffed for this but I also like Denny's a lot for some reason too. That meat and potato sandwich they have every once in awhile is godlike imo
Chili's is pretty bomb too for poor ass college students...there's one at school and you can get a pretty decent sized lunch for 6 bucks. Good place to work on and munch
I know Mexican will always bring debate, but I love me some Papasitos...too bad it's like $20 for some fajitas.
Not bad choices, although personally I'd ho Saltgrass over Longhorn. I love to people watch at Denny's too tbqh. Another joint like that is Waffle House...good eats and crazy peeps.
