except said idiot did not wonder. He concluded Splitter is a negative and we are better off without him

now tell me, who would this said idiot trade Splitter for? which available bigman would be a better pair with Duncan for his "last shot" at a le?
This season he is a net negative, look at the starting unit numbers... Just stating facts...

Boris Diaw would be my big next to Tim... Besides Ayres is a cheaper Tiago-lite. I'd trade Splitter for a much needed wing.

we'd get destroyed in the playoffs with a bigman lineup of Duncan, Diaw and Ayres.

not to mention an injury, even small one would turn us into 1st round sweep fodder.

Splitter provides a lot of things...but spacing is not one of them lol. Not sure where that comment came from.

I dont think its so much Splitter. I think its that we have a very small lineup. TD is the anchor bigman, and Ayres/Baynes are barely if not at all nba calibre players. Diaw is a pf/sf to me.

Just about any decent big makes a world of difference to us. whether it be splitter, asik, drummond, or any mediocre big. It will make our team 10x better than another decent guard. Ive always said i dont want any more sg/pg/sf in this team. we need big trees in the middle lane.

Splitter is nba calibre, but hes definately not all-star and he definately cannot anchor a defense by himself. TD is still better than him, but with both on the court its even better (thats why we miss him)

I want one of those drummond type youngsters to come to sas and learn the trade, Splitter has taken too long and while i think he makes an excellent backup big or second big on the court, he cant be the main big on a team.

What you need to realize is that these two guys are really good. They're putting up these kind of numbers against everyone not just us. You need to worry when guys like Perkins or Ryan Hollins put up these numbers against us.

Davis and Pekovic are both studs and can put the ball in the hole, Splitter wouldn't have made much of a difference.
Davis is a stud, and Pek fed off of Minny's atrocious shooting night to crash the glass. He's a garbage man, just taking out the trash.

Eh, I think Pek deserves a little bit more credit than that. He's got a very soft touch around the basket and is pretty damn good at creating his own shot with his physicality and footwork around the basket.

He has skills, but I wouldn't call him a stud. He was the trash man in that game, feeding off of their misses.
