Yop. I know Montana did much more for the Niners, but I grew up watching Young kick ass so he'll more than likely always retain that #1 spot.
i figured. that's cool though, i met others who liked Young more and they were younger. I appreciated him a lot more when the Jeff Garcia era began, but at the time I was young and butthurt about Montana being let go, plus I always saw Young as this Tampa Bay castoff. But no doubt he was a badass and could've done a lot more damage had Dallas not been so good.

I remember the Jeff Garcia hype when he had a couple of good seasons

they were touting him as next in line after Montana-Young

Favorite non-Brown would have to be Edward Reed. There was none of the preening, look-at-me BS from Reed we saw from Ray Lewis: just great, clean, hard-hitting football. Ed Reed is a man's man.

Favorite Brown? That would be Bernie, of course. The late, great Eric Turner is second.

Moulds, Kelly, Reed, Thurm, Lofton, Spiderman Talley (probably a top 3 Bill for me), Bennett, Kelso, Tasker, Beebe, Metz, Hull, Hansen, Christie, Cowart, Flutie Flakes. Loved Bruce too, but was never as gung-ho about him after the shameless Redskins hanging-on years.

    They were some mother ers

Darryl Talley was my favorite Bill from that era. Cleveland native (Shaw High School in East Cleveland), underrated, always around the ball and by all accounts a great teammate. The ultimate glue guy. Not to mention he was possibly the only black man in the world with a mullet.

Bledsoe's first year in Buffalo (2002) was so much fun to watch...Moulds and Price were killing it. If we could've had our 2002 O with either our 2003 or 2004 D we'd of been nasty imo.

Some Moulds goods from that year:

Yeah, Bledsoe, Moulds, Price, and iirc at the time Travis Henry made one of the more explosive offenses that year.

Price eventually left to be the #1 receiver for Mike Vick. bad career choice indeed

Henry was ballin' that year too, but to be fair he didn't have the weight of 8 or 9 illegitimate children holding him down yet.

    1. Mack "The Truck" Lee Hill.....imagine averaging over 5 yards a carry between the tackles for two seasons in a row. Had to be seen to be believed, a true monster. Signed on as a free agent out of Southern U. a KC Chief

2.J.D.Smith...a converted DB out of NCA&T, once out gained Jim Brown in a season. Cat was smooth!

3.Hugh "The King" McElhenny, an amazing runner. Was a hurdles champion in HS, the best pale face running back of all time. Yep, a Niner.

4&5&6...Joe Montana and Steve Young to Jerry Rice.

7.Cookie Gilchrist a 250 pound fullback in the mid 60's, the first great AFL 1000 yard rusher.

    8&9&10

Gale Sayers, Jim Brown, and Barry Sanders
