Something for you to chew on...

    1. There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq during the month of January..... In the fair city of Detroit there were 35 murders in the month of January. That's just one American city, about as deadly as the entire war torn country of Iraq.

    2. When some claim President Bush shouldn't have started this war, consider the following:

FDR led us into World War II. Germany never attacked us: Japan did. From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost, an average of 112,500 per year.

Truman finished that war and started one in Korea. North Korea never attacked us. From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost, an average of 18,334 per year.

John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never attacked us. Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost, an average of 5,800 per year.

Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent. Bosnia never attacked us. He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions.

    3. In the two years since terrorists attacked us President Bush has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran, and North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people.

The Democrats are complaining about how long the war is taking, but...It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno to take the Branch Davidian compound. That was a 51-day operation.

We've been looking for evidence of chemical weapons in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton to find the Rose Law Firm billing records.

It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard than it took Ted Kennedy to call the police after his Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquid killing a woman.

Why is there always such a big deal made about the President going to his ranch? Do you think he is really "on vacation?" He's still on the job - he's just working outside of Washington. With all the technology we have now, many people telecommute - why is it so wrong for the President to do it for a month?

Besides, how many weeks vacation do the CEO's of major corporations get? At least 4 weeks!
It's just more evidence of his insanity if he wants to be in Texas in August.
    Crazy mother.

but he IS going on his semi-annual vacation, and HE was the one to say 'bring it on' when asked about iraqi forces...

if saying that is propaganda then everything is propaganda

To be accurate, tlong, Germany did attack us. Their U-boats were sinking our supply ships in the atlantic and north sea before Pearl Harbor.

Well, there was that little matter of North Korea invading South Korea and the existing U.S. containment of Communism policy, maybe a few protection treaties, but your right, North Korea never directly attacked us, however, yesterday butterflies flew out of my ass, what the does that have to do with the existing dirty war in Iraq?

Comparing the WWII situation and the war in Iraq makes no sense.

Hitler was trying to take over Europe (and the World, for that matter). Saddam was pretty much contained, with no WMDs, possing no threat to anyone except to his own people.

Nevertheless, I'm glad that the muther er is gone. I hope he is put away for life, or sentence to die.

    That happens all the time.
If you speak out against the President you are being "unpatriotic" and that is just plain BS. If that is the case then there were millions of "unpatriotic" conservative republicans during the Clinton years.
I support the troops all the way but that doesn't mean I have to kiss Dubya's ass either.

If the war is justified, all death is worth the price; if not, one death is too many.

How unbelievably patronizing, condescending, insulting...those all mean basically the same thing but I can't think of enough adjectives to describe what an asshole statement that is. These "brainwashed kids" are probably more man than you'll ever be and you should just get on your knees and thank them having the courage, conviction and character that it takes for choosing this type of life....one that most American men and women are too chicken and selfish to ever consider.

they have chosen a career path that takes extraordinary courage and conviction. They should not be patronized and demeaned with references such as "kid" and "brainwashed". People think they are being sympathetic but marines and soldiers find it very insulting.

I, for one, am most definitely too chicken and selfish (just like most people) to choose such a life, and that's why I have the highest respect for these guys and would NEVER refer to them as "brainwashed kids'

but most of them are kids

in my personal experience most people are my age or younger when entering

and in my personal experience, a close friend of mine went from an anti-war anti-bush laid back guy to a HARDCORE pro-bush person in less than a year after training camp

it was weird becuz i knew this guy from 2nd grade and never noticed a change in him so drastic before
