Not surprised, you don't think much of Manu anyway
IU am not just talking about manu
I am talking about all spurs players

    they are not all saints

I think very highly of manu
I just think he is good for 30 minutes a game
    nothing wrong with that
he plays very well for those minutes
and is more effective in those minutes then most at 40 minutes a game

Raja Bell just confirmed that YES Manu called their agent and asked why he allowed Bell to go the Suns. He said Manu doesn't like the way he(Bell) plays D against him. Bell was/is being interviewed after the press conf to announce his signing.

Here is a link to the stream; it'll probably be mentioned again through out the show (on until 6pm local time).

The story is not true, even if Raja Bell says it is, becuase unless Manu was joking, it makes no sense. What difference does it make to Manu whether he is gaurded by Raja Bell of the Jazz, or Raja Bell of the Suns? He will have to face him either way. Why would he care that Bell signed with the Suns?

Hey, there is a little more than an hour left in the show. They said they were going to replay the interview. Probably during the 5 o'clock rush hour.

Can't wait for the first game between the two.

Same here. I can't wait to watch the Spurs own the Suns, just like they did this past season.

I'm right in the heart of Suns Country, so I've got firsthand knowledge that Phoenix's fans are delusional. They've got no center. They're losing a guy who posted 17 ppg, 5 rpg, and shot 48% from 3-point land. Kurt Thomas doesn't have the speed to facilitate the run-and-gun style that made them successful last year. Nevertheless, they're drinking Sarver's Kool-Aid and believe they'll contend for a championship. Get real. The only thing the Suns are contending for is a 4-seed in the Playoffs.

Sorry Billscarnage, and any other Suns fans, but that one-trick pony has been taken out to pasture.

hey now, Phx was one game away.....from being swept!

Seriously, without Johnson they not be as effective as last year. Amare will have an MVP type season but Nash is a year older and Bell, who is a good defender, is not the scorer JJ is. I see more halfcourt sets and less running...which is not to their advantage.

Oh, so who in the Pacific will take the 1-3 seed??? In fact who in any other division, sans the Spurs, is capable of taking the 1-3 seed? If Houston wins the SW guess where the Spurs go.. That's right #4.

    Keep dreamin bub.

that is a big if, bro. But you do have a point....while I think that the Suns will not be as good as they were this year, they IMO are still the best in their division and in the NW its still Seattle but still IMO not as good as this year.

The NW division is a crap shoot, but Denver will likely come out of there. Seattle if they can pull thier heads out of their ass. I really don't see the Suns worse than #2. Losing JoJo will alter their style, but not that much. Jjax, Bell or Fins (if he comes) will still be able to shoot the three just fine. And it the Suns only need three to run the break in their style.

There's a long way to go until camp, but I will still go against popular opinion and say the Suns will be better next season. Probably not record wise, but they'll be a better team. They caught lightning in a bottle this past year.

Well, Houston won't win the division so that's a moot point. They'll be a very good, but they still have no bench whatsoever, and Stromile Swift is certainly not in the same league as Tim Duncan.

The Suns are still the best team in the Pacific, I'll admit that. But the division won't be the cakewalk it was this past season. The Lakers will be much better. The Clippers will be better. The Warriors - who beat the Suns twice - are going to turn heads.

I can admit when I'm wrong. Phoenix won't be a four-seed because they'll win the division, but they'll be the fourth best team in the conference. San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas should be better, and Denver and Memphis could give Phoenix a run for its money.

When it comes to winning a championship, the only ones who can "keep dreamin'" are the Phoenix Suns

It was a joke, an inside joke between Manu and his agent. It was just blown out of proportion by the Suns fans hopefuls that will be praying they can make it back to the Western Conference Finals again and atleast take the Spurs to 6 games.

The sad thing for the Suns is that Bell and Kurt Thomas won't be enough to take them past the Spurs or any team that plays defence. Why? Because of their own style, too much fastbreak, too little defence, and D'Antoni, Nash and Stoudamire don't look like they are going to change it.

    SA, likely...
Houston, only team that really scares me...
    Dallas, yeah right....
Denver, Suns should still be able to beat them in 7.
Memphis, ok dunno what yer smoking but that team/franchise is in complete disarray.

Warriors will be good, especially w/Ike, but they'll probably be 5 or 6 seed.

Keep telling yerself that. Amare has stated that his main goal this offseason is to work on his defense. They may or may not put a fill scheme D in, but Bell and KT are defensive minded players. Meaning when some one tries to score they'll try to stop them.

Was it a joke, or is Manu really frustrated. Maybe now that Bell has said something the reporter who started the whole thing will ask Manu's side of the story. Be sure to post a link when it happens. Otherwise you keep telling yourself it's a joke.

Exactly...for the Spurs win and Manu going for 38 pts, on 10/12 FG.

Ginobili, who has the same agent as Bell, Herb Rudoy, complained to Rudoy when he learned that his defensive nemesis was going to a team that San Antonio met in the Western Conference finals.

"It was funny," Bell said. "You know, Manu's a compe or, and I do a good job, I'd like to say, on him, but he's a tough guard for me. So it's just a respect level. It's cool to hear somebody thinks you're that way, especially being the All-Star that he is, so it was flattering."

Now they're all saying it.. Weeeeee.

    He isn't.

    RIF.

Tell me if Bell defended Manu well based on the times he guarded him.

    He did not.

    We saw the games.

Memphis is in complete disarray? They've added Eddie Jones, who contributes mid-teens scoring, a healthy 5 or 6 rebounds per game, and veteran leadership. They shipped out malcontent Bonzi Wells and added Bobby Jackson, a real spark plug. They lost Jason Williams and his 5:2 assists to turnovers ratio. Stromile Swift's departure is a negative, but aside from that, they're looking pretty solid. Perhaps not on the Suns level, but still capable of giving them a run for their money.

As far as "Dallas..yeah right," this year's Mavs team gave the Johnson-less Suns all they wanted in the Conference semis, tying that series up 2-2. It also took 2 overtimes and a career performance from Nash to avoid going behind 3-2, so I wouldn't be so quick to brush them off.
