He would. If a guy is injured the entire post season, he gets the same ring everyone else gets (see Phil Jackson). If the guy is on the team before the playoffs begin, he probably gets a ring. You don't need him necessarily to be eligible in the playoffs, but if he could help you get there, that could be beneficial.
