Don't they have a mariachi band there? I can't remember if its that one or mamacitas.
By the way....word of advice...don't call it San Antone

Since when are crackers and s experts on authentic Mexican food ?
What's your expert recommendation son?
Best place closest to the airport would be Teka Molino on San Pedro Ave.
some really horrible suggestions in here aside from maybe 1. you want authentic or you wanna get ed by the dudes at guajillos spending $3 on a couple slices of avocado? try picante grill off broadway, really great food and as authentic as it gets.... PG is not tex mex, a little pricey but reasonable for the quality you get.
eriks tacos is decent but it's a hole trailer off nacodogches
mamacitas is decent too but it ain't nothing special nor authentic
mi tierra is as white tex mex as you can get with the clutter of every horder in the world stuffing their into that building
chachos is downright disgusting
guajillos used to be pretty good but their prices are out the roof, service sucks and i swear they have downgraded their quality
etc...
now if you wanna see some nice s and ass, eat some tex mex(authentic to sa), then head over to ojos locos!
Picante Grill is good.
What a fail thread on my part...well, technically my medical coordinator's part...she said San Antonio but it was some hole border town on the south tip (McAllen)...great mexican grub though so can't complain.
You ain't gotta lie, I know you flew in because you heard Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber were in town.
Looks like a great menu. Thanks for the recommendation. But why the does every restaurant in San Antonio cheap out on the mole poblano by skipping the mulato chiles? I know they're expensive as in Texas, but you gotta have them along with the pasillas and anchos to make the like you can get on the other side of the border. Only way I know to get good mole poblano in this city is to go buy the ingredients myself and then spend all day making it.

A trip to the border just isn't a trip to the border without swimming the Rio Grande tbh
Selena's performing Saturday night in Hidalgo, TX -- 15 minutes from the McAllen,TX
