when you trade a player, all signing bonuses are paid up front by the original team. its why the raiders still paid palmer all that money even after trading him to AZ. trading romo isn't a good alternative. have to ride him out until later

Not that it matters as he was already signed by Denver, but for a contending team Ware still makes a lot of sense. For a team like Dallas who is not gonna win the Super Bowl, let alone make the playoffs next year, the only logical decision was to cut him and focus on rebuilding the D-Line.
It makes a lot more sense for Ware than it does for Denver, tbh. They'll regret signing him the second someone jabs his face mask, reaggravates his neck injury, and renders him practically useless for the rest of the season.

In the last two years, he's been a s of himself man. Too many injuries over time. Like I said, that first jab to his face mask is going to dramatically slow him down and that'll be that.
He had what? 4 sacks last year. No way is that worth giving someone a 3/30 contract. At least Jared had double digit sacks again. If the Cowboys can somehow suck Jared's enough and convince him to come here, it would be a pretty good upgrade, imo.
He faded badly the second half of the last few seasons, mainly due to neck/shoulder issues. That doesn't just disappear. Love Ware, but it's hard to justify keeping him around at that amt.
