oh no! not the dreaded chip on the shoulder that literally never amounts to anything!
Right. No team that's ever played with swagger because of doubters has ever done anything. Not the Mavs in 2011, or the Saints in 2010. Motivation doesn't exist and doesn't push athletes, right? Jordan never did when people pushed him.

Great stat re: winning % with Kawhi. If Pop let's Kawhi and Boris defend LeBron at the arc, maybe Kawhi has a better winning % than LeBron in the 2013 Finals.

I think people are forgetting how dominant OKC looked before Westbrook went down this season. They were crushing teams with ease. Spurs/OKC is a toss up, that's if the Spurs make it out of the 2nd.
Yeah? So was Indy. They've both fallen off.

Indy's 18-12 against the West and 35-11 against the East. I know it's fuzzy math but if you project those winning percentages over a full west schedule, they go from being a 58 win team to a 54 win team ... essentially in line with Portland. Pretty easy to crush teams when you're traveling a lot less miles and have three other good teams in your conference (four if you give Brooklyn the benefit of the doubt).

Indiana-17-12 (.586) vs West. If they were in the west, they would play 52 games in conference (a 30-22 mark, based on that percentage)

they would play 30 games against the East where they are 35-11 (.760). They would project to have a 23-7based on that percentage

53-29 which would place them 4th in the West

Your math is pretty darn close.

I guess jet lag keeps me from being able to do simple addition and subtraction. Either way, less impressive than Miami's 20-8 record against the West. Indy does give the Heat matchup problems with the bigs but I think Miami can turn it up a notch. George has been reeling since the new year and that has taken all air out of their offense. Funny how all the pundits were calling him the #3 guy in the league early on.
