Apalisoc, he has a role, and he seems to play it pretty damn well. That shot chart is not accurate at portraying how much he helped the spurs. They got out to that early lead because of his hot shooting, and everytime the Mavs looked to make a comeback he dropped a dagger. Most of his misses came when Spurs clearly had it in the bag also...

Mills only had about 2 shots that hurt the offense IMO..

It should also be mentioned that a few of his misses were forced shots due to his teammates passing the ball to him in a bad position where he had little room for error..

Sometimes, basketball is more complicated than X player took more shots than X player, tbh..

I wouldn't say Patty is a ball hog, either. Dude had 6 assists. But 9-25 isn't good any way you slice it and lots of those misses were easy shots he should've made, especially the ones he missed in the paint.

It was also evident that the Spurs were going to attack Nowitzki and Calderon..unfortunately, only Duncan and Splitter were aggressive against Dirk, while Diaw played conservative..even Leonard took 2 pull-up 3s, rather than attack, when he was covered by Dirk and then Brandan Wright on 2 separate possessions..

Mills's job was to attack Calderon, their weakest defender, and push the pace, he did both, tbh..

Mills was +29 in +/-. He knows his role on the team is to score, and when Parker's out, Mills still has the green light to shoot, except with more playing time. Pop trusts him (and I'd trust his judgement over some guy on an internet forum), and Mills, once again delivered.

You're an imbecile if you can't see how he helped the team tonight, bud. Not sure if you watched the T'Wolves game, but we saw what happens when a Spur doesn't step up offensively. We got destroyed. Also, keep in mind that Mills shooting the ball spreads the floor, and that he also had 6 assists.

Splitter was +36 (!!!!) and Patty was (+29) in the game.

Patty has been the best thing for the Spurs since Kawhi Leonard.

Btw, if Parker's out in the playoffs, expect to see Mills do what he did tonight, and what he did when he led us to wins against the Blazers, Clippers, Wizards and the Bobcats. 20+ points on 20+ shots and 5+ assists.

I thought Splitter and Duncan were our 4th quarter MVPs tonight.

Right. Kawhi's 5 for 14 was so much better than Patty's 9 of 25. Errrrrrrr, what? Patty was 6 of 11 from behind the arch? What a Patty is.

We we may have issues. Patty's not one of them

    no excuses

If he cant be had at 2 million a year next year then just cut his ball hogging ass

no room room for players like patty who don't know their place and just chuck like crazy
are you re ed? You would pay him less than Bonner?

We we haven't had a decent backup point guard in 11 years. We finally have one.... Who has balls the size of grapefruit..... Who's not a scared little ..... And you don't want him?

If he didn't know "his place" on a Pop team, then he wouldn't be playing. Idiot.
