Rest in Peace, Mr. Jennings.
Whenever something happened in the world, it was your broadcast that I looked for to give me perspective and help me makes sense of it. Your grace, command of material, and when appropriate, wit on air in the most trying of times brought me and countless others reassurance and comfort. In an era of "whoever screams the loudest gets the ratings" journalism, you were dignity and class personified. As I grew up, you were part of my family's evening routine for years. And in the decade that I have been on my own, regardless of how many news channels would spring up on the cable box, you were still who I looked for first when I needed to know what was going on.
A heartfelt thank you from one of you many admirers. I can only hope my prayers for you and your family bring a fraction of the comfort you have brought to me and my family over the years.
