They inherited their father's company and are amongst the largest political contributors in the world. The aim of the influence is to entrench their interests. They personify the oil lobby.

I in no way consider myself a democrat but I find their brazen displays of the modern oligarchy to be disturbing.

Yeah why would anyone be concerned by the expanding amount of political clout carried by a shrinking amount of people? Stop whining, you whiny whiners!
you mean libruhl bullies need to leave the Koch Brothers alone

The "Shelden Adelson Primary" that took place a few weeks ago was a whole new level of a brazen display of modern oligarchy. A bunch of presidential candidates lining up to eat out of the hand of some senile old zionist who's so ing old he needs a wheelchair to move around. It looked like something out of a fictional Orwellian society.

We'll see if Steyer's "speech" is out front, or will it be Kock-style dark money.

Are all of the emoticons really necessary in every single one of your posts? I skip over your stuff on a daily basis because of that bull , as do many others. You may actually have good takes (besides your refusal to acknowledge ginger's flopping) but I simply don't read your posts.

Nothing you just said is remotely laugh my ing ass off. Keep your emoticons to the club please.

Most people realize that other people have emotions that are not their own at about age 4. Your feelings mean jack as to what anyone else should think.

goes to what Spurminator said about fewer people having more clout. We're all equally free to buy influence and access, right?

thinking the Koch Brothers actually believe their political objectives are good for America
So Soros has a vision and the Koch brothers is totally self interest. I don't think so. I think they see America as needing their capitalistic guidance for their benefit, and for the working class that relies on them.

So you think they see themselves as parasites that get rich as they can now before the host (US) crumbles around them? This is a short term play? It's not good for the parasite to kill the host...

What exactly are the govt policies that Soros is funding vs the anti-Human-American/anti-environment funding of the Kock Bros?

"there doesn't seem to be much need to keep the money in the dark."

paranoia reigns on the extreme right. Why have the Kock Bros and the VRWC been in the dark for decades until they finally got outed a couple years ago?

One big justification for dark money that the courts seem to accept is that Corporate-Americans' "speech" must remain anonymous, secret to avoid "persecution" by Human-Americans.

can't find it now, but there was a case in OR or WA where the judge said some contributor could remain anonymous because the "fear of retribution, persecution" was real.

what the anonymous dark money donors want to avoid is what happened to Rush. His advertisers were known and withdrew when he said something scandalous.

The corps want their dark money to speak, but they don't want their customers' money to speak back.

'em all, because they're ing all of us

    Political Calculus:

    TPd * TPr = CM

    Where:

TPd = Talking points of Democrats related to the Koch Brothers
TPr = Talking points of Republicans related to Obamacare & Benghazi
CM = Critical mass of bull where the collective minds of America implode
Yeah. I am no fan of the Koch brothers, but the bloviating is annoying even dyed in the wool Democrats like myself.

I will say though, that their anti-climate change offings, have contributed to the right-wing war on science in this country, and that is starting to worry me.
