I still can't help but wonder what the TRUE condition of this guys knee is, though.
As it's been stated before, the scar tissue that was discovered in his physical is something that has been there throughout his entire career. It came from an injury that he sustained through college, healed completely (minus the scar tissue, which is not that uncommon with any sort of serious injury) and has never caused a problem as long as he has been in the NBA. It was there when he played his first game, and it will be there when he plays his last game. That doesn't necessarily mean that it will ever be an issue.
I understand that this may have been a subject of concern to New Jersey, one they wanted to look into further before obligating themselves to a contract. However, there was apparently some major snafoo in PR, which was demonstrated in the news article where Rahim came out and publicly stated that he didn't appreciate the way he was being treated, and didn't want to play for New Jersey.
So I'm just left to wonder one thing: how much of this drop has to do with the 'problem' with his knee, and how much of it has to do with his desire to play (or not play, as the case may be) for the Nets?
