Yep. Just like defensive POY awards are always rigged to big men who rebound a lot and swat shots. Marcus Camby was a weak defender, but always looked to swat the shots.
no they didn't. K. nevermind i couple people already posted about how he got robbed.

He started too many games, tho this year was one of the weakest in recent times when it came to 6th men, he was the default choice.
Jamal Crawford obviously didn't deserve the award this year but who cares? Manu was clearly better but it doesn't really matter tbh..
Manu deserved it, tbh. So much for folks taking more in consideration advanced stats for handing out awards.
It makes me legitimately wonder what these guys look at when making these votes. If they look at stats, surely they have to see his 42% fg shooting... I mean , how can you even give someone the award for that? Then again.. they gave Kobe an MVP...
Most awards voters are not credible, tbh..
All you have to do is look at the voting results past 1st and 2nd place..some of these dudes voted PJ Tucker as DPOY this season, for example..
Fortunately, more new-age writers are beginning to receive votes for awards..
Even if I were a Clipper homer, there is no way I could be blind enough to think Crawford was the 6th man of the year. It was Ginobili's award.
Who do you think deserved it?
Taj Gibson would've been my pick. But who gives a about 6th man? It's like saying--here's an award for not being good enough to start but better than the ty 12th player in the rotation so let's give you an award!
Manu was more efficient & gave the team more, despite playing 22 minutes a game compared to Crawford playing 30+...
Also, how convenient from the NBA to give the 6MOY award to a man named Jamal who is a Clippers player. Could be a subtle move to boost their image amid the Sterling racism issue.
Because if it was merit-based I really would pick Gibson.
