I guess this means Bonner will be re-signed to another 3-4 year deal.

LOL, Antonio Davis on espn: "Next game, Ibaka has to realize that they have Matt Bonner on the floor and take him to the woodshed! I mean, that's Matt Bonner!"
True though. Hope they don't realize that tbh.

I'm fine with OKC running their offense through a hobbled Ibaka instead of Durant or Westbrook.

It's his spacing and underrated defense. He's surprisingly strong when people try to body him in the paint. He can hold his own, with his arms straight up, when taking contact from guys driving the lane. He's got that re strength, tbh.

I still think he's got some value in this series. Wasn't making shots unfortunately but liked that Pop put him out there. If those shots start falling, watch out.
We've been watching out for seven years now. How much longer?

That move may be a little overrated. It's really the combination of playing at home plus feeling you've made the right adjustments.

he literally has to just stand there at the 3 pt line. ibaka has to honor it leaving wide open lanes and we exploited it long enough to neutralize him. bonner can hit a wide open 3 in game 6 i believe, if they decided 0-4 meant they could help off him with ibaka back in the paint. provided pop uses the same strategy.

but yeah, not saying red rocket saved the day or anything, but the shake up mightve been just what the spurs needed to get game 5.

I think you guys are underestimating Bonner's effectiveness this series, even if he's shooting like crap. I was the one who was ing about Diaw to take all those open 3's he had, but he kept driving it to the basket only to get blocked. If Matt Bonner's on the floor, Ibaka knows better than to leave Bonner wide open. Ibaka did that the past 2 games with Diaw and knows he just simply doesn't feel comfortable taking the 3 even though he can. If Matt Bonner is as wide open as Diaw is throughout the series, you know he's going to let it fly. Both Brooks and Ibaka knows they can't afford to let Bonner do that.

If you had five Matt Bonners, you'd score zero points and be up by 30.
he looks so terrible, tbh, doesn't belong on an NBA court, yet he's still positively impacting a team, somehow..dat spacing, doe..

If you want the starters to play with urgency and hustle, there's no better way to do that than to put Matt Bonner on the floor with them so they know they have to work twice as hard to cover for his deficiencies.

and he spreads the floor and whatever.

Bonner had a bad game, but the mere threat of hitting threes like he did in Game 4 means OKC has to guard him. They can't leave him open and that's why it helped even though he essentially did nothing.
