I think this is fair. The team is far better this year without Tony than it was last year.
This year, we are unstoppable with a 100% Tony, but we can beat almost anyone almost anytime without him this year, and last year it wouldn't even have been close.
It is true that Tony isn't quite as good as he was last year, but last year he was top three MVP candidates. This year, we don't need him to be that and thank god we don't.
It doesn't mean that we are better without him; it just means that we are better than last year. And that is a good thing.
