http://www.nba.com/video/channels/pl...popovich.nba//Is he nuts? Would you think that kind of comments could bring down Green, Mills and Marco´s confidence?
Absolutely. In fact, I think that was a secret message to those three that he's no longer going to give them any time on the floor, and that he's going to eliminate using the three point line entirely as part of his offensive game plan.

If you watch games from the 70's, the ball movement was better, players took the open shot and there was much more strategy to get open for a good shot. Big men were much more important then as well. Teams scored more points, had a better shooting percentage, and everyone was more involved on offense. Like Pop said, ... it was real basketball.
Bingo. The three point shot has become a bailout to good basketball and has become the focus of so many kids growing up learning the game, instead of learning basics like footwork and passing.

That being said...I still think three-pointers are exciting and I love them.

Because the 3 point line is not basketball. It was added to make the sport more interesting but real basketball is about getting as close to the basket and getting the best shot. Thats why the Center position is as important as it was back when Wilt and Russel played.

Back in the day if you had a good center it meant that the team had to take worse shots, now today the 3 point line negates that to a degree.

Wow. The stupidity to say Green's confidence was brought down by parkers comments and now pop's, last year the heat just figured out how to pressure Danny and how to run him off the 3 point line

I referee basketball and I can tell you they have ruined junior high, jv and lower level high school basketball. Players who do not have the ability to shoot the three still want to chunk it up there.....it is ugly!
