I have not visited during a game during the last half of the playoffs because I cannot abide the trash that gets spewed toward other posters, our own players, etc. etc. And I'm not talking about taking a player to task. I'm talking about trashing our own team and spewing porn and vitriol and not getting called out for it by the moderators, publicly.

I use the ptr in-game anymore, or nothing at all. They have, and enforce, some decent rules. I don't know why the moderators have let this get so out of control.

Just like them you have the right/possiility of registering your own domain, enter in a contract with a web hosting company and hire admins to install and maintain the forum for you. And then you will be in full control and moderate/ban/regulate at your little heart content. I'm sure it's going to be a runaway success.

As some one who has been here since nearly the beginning, I am absolutely saddened at what this site has become. I know you guys have had the policy of limited moderation since the beginning but because of that policy, the inmates now ruin the asylum.

Before, Mouse and his trolling was the were expectation while the board talked Spurs and sports. Intellectual discussions were had. Now, it's girls trolling trolls and racists being racists and s being s and oh hey, there's a semi well thought out Spurs post... a now it's been reduced to a fest of juvenile bile.

The NBA forum used to be the wastepin for idiots, trolls and racists. It was called downstairs for a reason. Now, this place is a single story dwelling.

I know LJ had/has health problems and you have a growing family but your absence to this forum has been it's downfall.

It's sad that a place like reddit has exponentially better spurs and sports discussion. But I guess that's what happens when you have proper moderation and self regulation.

This site could be a lot better but the owners are busy....doing whatever they're doing. I never understood why they invested so much money and energy into this, only to let it die a slow death, but to each their own.

Can't totally agree with the OP, that asshole once started with me for no reason, so he's just as guilty for making this place a hole as anyone else. There are some good posters that aren't around anymore unfortunately, but he's not one of them.

There's hardly any interesting discussion there. The community isn't large enough or active enough.

You have to go to r/NBA to get any tactical discussion or analytical posts, but on the other hand r/NBA is basically a thought prison where anything remotely funny or only obliquely NBA-related is deleted within 10 minutes and you get downvoted for stating an opinion that contradicts the accepted wisdom (thus burying your comments at the bottom of threads).

For one, Evay is one of the good poster of the spurs forum, he mostly talks about basketball, doen't throw slurs in his posts and doesn't create a thread every hour poluting first page of the forum every time he has a fart brain.

For two, I'm not ok with all he wrote in this thread but he is just giving his two cents in a thread made for that. Besides he is just saying what a lot are thinking and saying all year long. If, by the way, you think this thread is not appropriated just lock it.

For three I just at the "if you are not happy do something about it". What can he do tbh ? create a crew ? Slomo chose the wrong guy for using this kind of argument. Evay is one of the guy bringing something on the table.

POs ST suck this year, it is what it is. Harlem despite all his trolling at least create threads where there is bb discussion, Chinook is trying too, a few others the rest is garbage and overtaking the readable stuff.

I had a good time with fellow spurs fans here discussing many things about the team but I think the reason I liked it so much was because I knew a lot of the people here and had good times with them. Now, I come here and I hardly know anyone who posts anymore. There's definitely more racism but we used to be trolling assholes too. So I'm not going to act like ST was always super classy or nice.

It is what it is and this ST isn't the ST I liked a lot. I'm ok with that. Was I planning to post here for the rest of my life? Probably not. I still keep in contact with the people I considered friends from here. I suspect many of us who were around 10 years ago when it all got started here feel the same way, but they can speak for themselves.

Anyway, if you want better basketball discussion then I suggest trying to start it yourself because those who posted here in the past but have moved on are not coming back except maybe for a scattered appearance here and there. Changes happen and ST is not immune.

I liked the people here that posted more before. I liked the chats we had. Now I post when I can but this place was better back then. less trolls and more controlling. still on of the best places for spurs talking though lots of traffic

Honestly, some of the tiest posters on SpursTalk are some of the "old-school" posters..they're lost without the ability to tickle timvp's balls, that was the content of most of their posts..

The reason SpursTalk isn't as good, in the eyes of a lot of "old-school" posters is simply because the Spurs haven't won a le in 7 years, and are at the end of the line..the choking from 2011 to 2013 also brought opposing trolls, along with a legion of cliff jumping Spurs fans..

The behavior of fanbases on the internet is generally intertwined with the success of their team in real life..once Duncan retires, most Spurs fans won't exist on the Internet, realistically speaking..

People with mobile internet usually get assigned a different IP every time they connect.
One of the reasons why there are so many new posters is that last year users could not lurk during the playoffs so in order to follow game threads it was necessary to create an account and log in.
