Why take a serious movie and ruin it by making it a comedy?

The original is one of my favorites.

for those of you in about how this is a remake and therefore must suck.. who cares? the original was made 1700 years ago.. just think of it as being a new movie really. It's completey different anyway. Why compare it?

and btw to the person who started the thread.. I have seen it, and I really liked it. Rent it.

But you are correct, this is a totally different movie and it should be said it sucks on it's own, not by comparison.
