Because you have to stand in line and order your food in a place that treats customers like cattle. If I want to go to that kind of disgusting atmosphere, I want to pay like a dollar.
Understandable.....well I like Piedras Negras de Noche, Margaritas, Pico De Gallo, or Mi Tierras
I haven't been to any of those places except Mi Tierra. And I think that place is definitely overrated.
To me, Chacos is a fast foot restaurant no different than Taco Cabana.

No, I'm the anti-snob. I looked at the menu and I was like, "WTF? This isn't mexican food! I feel like I'm at one of those seated dinners at a hotel where the gourmet meal consists of fish eyeballs and 3 peas and some weird-assed potato combination...at $30 a head."
Seriously, though...it was really good, but from what I remember it was about $15 and up a plate and it was super-crowded.

They are all expensive places kinda, but i love Piedras Niegras de Noche thats off of alamo street.

I've ate at Mi Tierra twice. The first time the food was decent the second time the food was nasty. :vomit
Is the target date for the opening still Sept 15? Everything looks so close to being done when we drive by.
I even ordered the same thing as Mi Tierra both times as well. I don't know how it went from decent to nasty....
Yeah a couple of us suggested La Fogata, but someone in the group shot it down.
I think I ate at that place. If I did, it was some good food. I think so though. I've ate at 2 Mexican resturants in SA. Mi Tierra & one more and I think it was La Fogata. I'd have to ask my mom though because I was with her.

Casa Sol is one of my favorites as is Sausalito. There is a Sausalito at Bandera and 1604 pretty close to your place.
La Fogata is great...not much for atmosphere, but great food.

Yeah we never went back there after we ordered guacamole and it was some disgusting paste substance.

Sorry about the guacamole.....can't speak for the one by your house...I only went to the one on Nacodoches.
Yeah Sausalito's might be good elsewhere, but the one by our house is really bad. Not just the guacamole. The salsa tasted horrible too.
I've never been to Tomatillos, but that's the place that KEDA caught them re-using the tortillas.
