Mills in Miami... Geez, the thought of it.
If the knicks wants Mills they need to give Iman shumpert or Tim hardaway jr...

I really don't think patty will be in SA next year. I've read numerous posts about how there's no way he's leaving, after seeing the Alamo dome celebration. I tend to think the opposite. I look at the celebration as a possible sendoff for him. Plus what player doesn't want to make a bunch more $$, while starting on a team. Only way he stays in SA is if he doesn't get that big offer from another team. The bad news....it's the NBA.. money will get thrown at him from someone.
He said "I want Patty"....just saying the guy seems to be a switch hitter be careful Patty..
I think he stays the dude is very loyal and Pop gave him the opportunity to work for and get playing time. They will be a conversation that you keep doing what your doing you will get more minutes next season and maybe even start some games for us.
Real security comes in longevity. Stick with Pop if you know what's good for you.
People (including Patty) just need to look at players who have left San Antonio for the $$. Ask Gary Neal how he felt making more money with the Bucks. He was miserable on a losing team. If someone gives Patty absurd money then he should probably take it. If the Spurs can make a fair offer then he should stay.
For the long timers, why didn't we resign Speed Claxton during the summer of 2003?
We had a huge haul that summer with Nesterovic, Horry, Turkoglu, Mercer and Anthony Carter. Don't understand why the backup PG who came through in the Finals wasn't brought back.
I'm sorry, what did you say? Your avatar distracted me.
No. Ex-Spurs are rarely hated.
Melo is a fat bum must be talking about hamburgers.
I wonder how the Lakers felt when Mr. Horry put on the Silver and Black...
He made only 2 out of 38 3 pointers in the 2003 playoffs, including 0 for 18 against the Spurs. They were pretty sure he was done.
Good point.
But what about a couple of years later in 2005?
Not so much.
A little history that amuses me.
The Spurs signed Horry to a one year deal for 4.5M in 2003. He was pretty bad for the Spurs in 2003-04 and he signed a second one year deal for only 1.1M for the next season. So when Horry went nuts in the 2005 playoffs he was basically on a minimum contract.
That got him three more years for a total of about 10M, and he earned every penny with one well-placed and well-timed hip check.
I wish Patty would stay but if he has to go I hope its NY and the give him Lin type money....Over pay
him and lets see how he fits into the system there.......
Agreed. There likely will be a bidding war for Patty from 2-4 desperate teams. I see him getting a contract in the $5.5 mill per year area. Is he worth that? Can the Spurs afford that? If they were paying Bonner $4.5, then yes. Will Patty have the success he's had with the Spurs in another system? Probably not.
Pop and RC were waiting on SJax to make a decision on their contract offer before offering a bigger contract to Speedy. In the process, Speedy got a big contract offer and had to take it.
They can't. Being multi time repeat tax scofflaws, the biggest chunk of money they have will be the mini-mid exception, about $3M, IIRC.
Apparently not enough...
