No doubt about it right now you guys are kings and we are paupers ... how long do you think THAT dynamic will last?
But right now Laker fans cannot say to a SPur fan, true story.
But doesnt change tha fact that the original post is flawed.
The scary thing for the Lakers is that the NBA is in transition. The old guard is getting really old, and there aren't really that many superstars in the new crop. The 1 and 3 positions appear loaded, everything else is fairly thin while the League recycles and figures itself out. The Lakers can't just go all-in on 2-3 players anymore and dominate the playoffs. They have to construct a team. And subtlely building around talent has never been their strong suit.

If they land someone like Embiid and he stays healthy, they might be able to right the ship. Other than that, short of bringing LeBron, Davis, or KD over to LAL, who are they going to sign to make them a Finals favorite again? I just don't see any solutions in the next 3-4 years.

You didn't see the NBA Marshals taking you by the scruff and making you give 5 back did you?

    6 proves anything is possible.

The Lakers developing talent from within is less likely than 6. Especially with their coaching situation all aflutter. Bang the drum all you want, we got dark days ahead in Tinseltown.

It's terrible and it hamstrings them, but it's only 2 years. Kobe basically just guaranteed that no alpha dog is coming through LA unless they're willing to kowtow for no money. If he gets 6, it'll be as a role player or 6th man.

Based on 25/6/6 it represents a 20% cut and is justifiable.

Neither do I Havoc, but it's why I preach patience. Outside of Blake and the three you mentioned no one is worth a max contract. With Kiwi and PG being the next best young pieces along with Lilard if we can't steal one of dem rather rebuild tbh

I could see a team being constructed around Love, but it would have to be just so, and even then wouldn't be le favorites. You're going to need 2 way players to get to the top of the West.

I think Westbrook would be a perfect fit in LA. Dude plays on pure emotion. The crowd would love him.
