The Mavs will miss Marion's defense. To be a serious contender, you need 2 great defenders. Preferably one at center or power forward position and one at the shooting guard or small forward position.

He gave Parsons an insane contract but at least it was short term for their perspective.
Who ing cares..we spend way too much time worrying about how much these rich bas s paid out...he can afford it....it was a great signing in my opinion....and will elevate the Mavs.

Marion was spotty on defense and actually relied a lot on the help D...he was overrated and clearly on the decline...he got exposed last year...

He was guarding Parker a lot in the playoffs. His defense was much better in the playoffs. He obviously can't keep his defensive intensity in a 82 game season given his age. But those vets know how to step it up when given more days off and more at stake.

I'm not scared of the Mavs, but with Chandler and Parsons they did get better. Now if only could they get rid of Felton for a guy that can actualy play basketball. Also sucks that Carter is gone.

Parsons is a fearless white boy...I hate the Mavs got him tbh....he's diffrent in that he actually improves and wants to get better he can shoot and his drives to the basket are a thing of beauty...he finishes coast to coast with intensity like Pippen used to...

You're pretty close. Dude is in the mold of Ginobilli. Dude can drive the paint or crush you from outside and has crazy energy off the charts.

The problem is Felton feels he's better than that. Felton is the kind of guy that can take shots away from other guys. The PG spot is also important defensively, because neither Parsons or Monta are good defenders.

I'll give Felton the benefit of the doubt, but RC is a demanding coach, so I expect Felton to mail it in and eventually the Mavs will have to trade him for a steady hand.

Mavs got to play a rusty Spurs team who had just been coasting for weeks because they already locked up the top seed with a big 19 game win streak averaging 17 point blowout wins. You know, kinda like every game after they shook their rust off including game 7 vs Mavs.

But I guess you need something to cling to both to try and diminish the Spurs' run last year and to hope they don't ring in 2015 too.

Ariza's three-point shooting fluctuates wildly and will be the first thing to go now that he's gotten paid and doesn't have Wall setting him up with good shots.... that would have been fine with a team like the Clipps because we literally just needed his defense, but for Houston, it's not good considering what they gave up....
Paul Pierce would have been perfect for you guys in every way, I was really hoping to see him go there. Can't believe he picked the Wizards

You can thank the NBA's worst GM, Billy King, for that.... he kept asking for the moon and stars in any sign-and-trade only to watch Pierce walk for nothing

Trading three first-round picks for one year of KG and Pierce on their last legs

Yeah, Hawes is still a big upgrade over Big Baby and Hollins.... still need that elusive small forward though
Could have drafted Parsons instead of Thmpkins
