He will not be a Spur.

    Get over it.
you're probably right, why else would they be last on the list of visitors? Tells me he is leaning towards deciding before he meets with the spurs. However, if the meeting goes down on Thursday chances are he signs with the spurs. Small chance nonetheless.

SA still way better than Miami.

Last season, this one, and the next one son....

You do know bringing too many stars with a big ego in a team is a disaster?

You might not enjoy miami's season.

Yea, your right. It really sucked those 3 years in a row when Shaq and Kobe had their big egos get in the way of winning those 3 strait les.

Something tells me that if Shaq and Kobe could somehow get it done in that crazy town and with their hatred for 3 years, then Shaq and a few other players who all put together do not have half the ego of Kobe, can get it done for at least 1 year.

    2 egos?

Have you looked at your new heat team?

Besides I wouldn't call Shaq's "ego", an ego. He's 10x more mature than the other idiot.
Shaq had other players without egos except for his final year in LA.

He had other players to look around for as teamates.

You need to look at your new team....

I am saying that all the new Heat players' egos combined are not as big as Kobe's ego.

Shaq and Kobe at least had games that complemented each other nicely. Now Miami's got a bunch of bad shooters who all want the ball. Were 'Toine, Shaq, Finley, Jason Williams, and Wade to be on the court at the same time no one would ever pass the ball. Ok, so Dwayne Wade might, he's a solid player. But there aren't going to be enough touches to go around. Not to mention the that will be that team's lack of chemistry. Most of the Lakers got along fine (notably excepting Shaq/Kobe), this Heat team bears little to no relation to the 2000-2004 Lakers squad.

That might be true, but everyone is still different...

More players in Shaq's mind, not only one.

Shaq also stayed there because of Phil... you gotta remember that. What Phil said went, he got them there..any other coach and they would've ended up like the 2006 miami heat team..

    Exactly.

But do you honestly think Miami is signing players blindly? The Heat front office would not commit suicide as some have mentioned they were basically doing by signing all these players.

You think Shaq has not discussed the season ahead with all the new players in question.

They all want a ring, including Shaq.

This Heat team will click fairly quick, I think.

Only time will tell for sure. Miami needed to improve as did all the other teams in the league.

Miami got some fresh faces in there and I am sure they know what they are doing.

You mean 2, possibly 3 starters?

    Did I mention egos?

True, time will tell... but you gotta be realistic.

They had to improve but did they really have to be a part of the biggest trade in NBA history?

How can you say they're not commiting suicide with such certainty? The Mavs did it for years and it sure looks like Phoenix did it this offseason. The ONLY chance this team has is that Shaq's ego and will is so dominating that he imposes his ideas on everyone else. I don't see it happening though. Too much pride. Although if anyone can do it, Shaq can.

Finally, you think there are NBA players that don't want rings? A desire for rings didn't help Shaq/Kobe/GP/Malone to gel.

Now, please correct me if I am wrong, but, wernt all 4 of those players clicking and hittin on all cylinders BEFORE Malone got injured?

I seem to remember them doing quite well, knocking off all teams thrown in front of them that post season, until Detroit.

They did what they thought they had to do. I think that it will be fine, actually, I think it will be better than fine because I predict them to win it all in 2006.

However, even with all the uproar over egos and such, I think Shaq will keep them all in check and make sure that things flow smoothly.

Well, if it weren't for 0.4*, we probably would have taken them out. And Detroit pretty much slaughtered them. No, they weren't clicking to the level that four HOFers should.

Now, I do not want to turn this into a fight, but it is just like Shaq said after that game.

    "One lucky shot deserves another."

Duncan made a lucky one so had *luck not played a part with Duncan's shot, then there would not have been a lucky shot from Fisher and we would not be talking about this.

What exactly is the standard level of performance that a team with 4 HOF'ers should be at?

Now, keep in mind, 2 of those HOF players in question were already passed their prime.

    Regardless, Detroit won that year.

Shaq is gone and now has a new task.

My 2 cents? Shaq and Miami win 60 games and win the le over Houston in the Finals.

I'm sorry... predictions are funny this early.

I dont think the Heat team will click quickly. White chocolate didnt click in all the years with the Kings or the Grizzlies. What makes you so sure he will click now? I also think that SVG will put the ball in Wade's hands to get the ball into Shaq. How do you think White Chocolate is going to respond? Easy. Everytime he gets the ball hes going to shoot it. So much for team chemistry.

Walker maybe a 50-50. He will try fitting intot he team and will give the Heat an energy guy full of heart. But he needs his shots to be effective and when it comes to defense he aint very good. Walker also likes the ball to be in his hands like a point forward so what will all this leave the Heat?

Potential problems down the road unless SVG can really find a way to define their roles and make them happy at the same time. But at this point in time, I cant phathom how hes going to do it. I would venture naming him Coach of the Year if he does it and Miami wins the championship.

if the Spurs lose a game or two Duncan doesn't mind taking all the blame for not making extra effort leading his team to take the W.

    unlike;

Shaq who sometimes get the media's and teammates attention using his usual "some players didn't take extra effort for us to win the game". (go ask Horry).

My 2 cents. The Heat start the year with horrible chemistry. Shaq's touches go way down because his teammates stop feeding him the ball. Wade has to freelance to get his points. The locker room is full of whining and complaining about roles and minutes. After the Heat struggle to a 22-19 start, Stan Van Gundy is fired, and Pat Riley takes over the coaching reins.

Antoine Walker gets benched, then suspended, and ultimately cut from the team. Riles gives White Chocolate a "Come to Jesus" talk, and slashes his minutes until he starts playing under control. JWill responds. With the cancerous presence of the NBA's worst player gone, and with JWill toeing the line, Shaq and Wade are free to do their thing, so the Heat go on a huge roll, and finish 57-25, capturing the #2 seed. Their bandwagon grows heavy.

The Heat roll through the first two rounds before falling to the Pacers in Game 7 of the ECF at Conseco.

Oh, by the way, Finley's best option is still Miami. Once Riles is done trying to sabotage SVG and takes over himself, Finley will find he has a nice role there.
