not just that, but timmy's D regressed a lot from last year, so the improvement is not justified.
Yeah, Duncan massively turned the clock back in 2012-13.

i love how Igoudala is always high on this lists... The guy sucks and he's still ranked 29th, just after Kawhi but ahead of 5 times better players.

...but the team was built specifically around him.
Exactly. How many players can you build a team around and win a championship?

    Probably 5 or less.

With the level of talent that Duncan has around him? Most definitely more than five.

These lists are always really, really bad..

Tim isn't even close to a top 5 player at this point, and I say this despite him being my favorite of all-time..

Parker is only in the top 15 if you're assuming that last season was an anomaly and he was fatigued, rather than on the decline..

Green and Diaw at 96 and 100 is absolutely ridiculous and embarrassing, tbh..

I can't disagree with this. Deron Williams, his draft-mate, is completely done. Chris Paul has only had slightly more longetivity.
Williams strikes me as undisciplined and lazy. Paul can lay off the hamburger helper.

Kobe is ranked way too high for a semi-retired player that looked like a D-league caliber player last year..

Wade can't even play more than 60 games in a season, there's no way he's in the top 20..

I didn't see where Derrick Rose is ranked, but I'm sure he's way too high, too..

the davis sucking is getting out of control, the guy has never even been close to the play offs and now he is supposed to be in the mvp conversation?
Are you serious? The dude is barely old enough to drink and very well could be the best center in the league this year.

He plays for a terrible franchise. Not exactly his fault. Dude is going to go for 24 and 12 this year with about 3 blocks per game.

since when players from lottery teams get mvps? i don't know if it ever happened.. and those stats are exactly because he plays in a ty franchise, why do you think love gets those stats?

Iguodala's yearly rankings are baffling, tbh..

What's the point of having his ability as a passer that can create for himself, when he rarely actually utilizes it in real games?..

I understood the hype in 2011-2012 when he shot like 38-39% from 3, since the ability to shoot is essential for a wing role player(which Iguodala is, don't get it twisted), but he's been overrated since that season..

Iguodala(great passer, average shot creator, elite defender, mediocre shooter) is not 70 spots better than Danny Green(mediocre passer, poor shot creator, great defender, elite shooter), for example..

What does this list have to do with the mvp conversation anyways?

The best player in the NBA season next year will be Anthony Davis. He is the next Tim Duncan.

And Klay Thompson is probably ranked a lot higher than Green even though he's pretty much the same player.

Good thing this isn't a list of potential MVPs, then. And you're completely silly if you don't think AD is a monster who would do damage on any team. He's going to be the best center in the league by the middle of next season at the latest.

5's too high imho maybe low 10-15 BUT a lot of spurs players should be on 15-30 tbh. We are deep, there's no "1" guy.

I'm not sure of that. There are very few players who affect the game in as many ways as Duncan, who help the team in as many ways, who can lead with no ego, and who can adapt to whatever pieces you put around him as well as Duncan. Those are factors you have to consider. No one is saying Duncan is a top 5 talent right now, but he's still arguably a top 5 player who you want on your team to help you win.

Baffling to me is that people consider Iguodala an elite defender. The defensive win shares stat was used to make a case for Iggy a few years back, but he's like seventh on his own team in that stat now. Media members tried so hard to make him into an elite player when he was with AI, and when he didn't live up to that, they throw the great defender term around figuring average NBA fans won't know the difference and just repeat what they hear.
