I should add that I love the stereotype, because I still fit it.
I live on a ranch.
I can confirm that. Talk real slow and say "darlin'" a lot.![]()

I live on a ranch.
kinda got to think about it though......the team name is the San Antonio ....."Spurs", which cowboys wear spurs, the mascot is a friggin coyote, which would refer to "country", the owner of the spurs, struts around in his cowboy boots and hat. Up north of us you have the Dallas "Mavericks", the Dallas "Cowboys", the Texas "Rangers", so I see that it would be an easy to stereotype us.....
well actually..................![]()
the New England Patriots have a patriot as their mascot...i dont expect them to be running around in colonial clothing, the Oakland Raiders mascot is a raider....well quite frankly you can be raided by anyone from Oakland so thats not a good example...but there is the atlanta Braves, i dont expect to see real indians running around Atlanta with full indian tribal wear..
^^^ You don't wear cowboy boots? What are you, a damn Yankee?![]()
i hate how everyone thinks Texans are racist.
It;s wnough to make you wish east texas would just secceed and form it;s own state.
Im no honky or damn tejano person to want to even come close to thinking about wearing cowboy boots...
Patriots old mascot/symbol was the minueteman.. they shoulda stuck with that. he was cool.
I do not own a pair of Rockies or Justins.
I bet your use to minute-men huh...drum roll please.......im here all week
I'm racist
Since when did you have to be a honky or tejano to wear cowboy boots?
since its the damn 21st century now whats the need to wear cowboys boots anymore? Its a serious fashion no no
Sounds like someone's got a eye for him.![]()
This is TEXAS, dammit. We have our own iden y, or make your own, but don't go copying what some damn New Yorker does.
I don;t wear boots cause they are not my style and i htin kthey are uncomfortable.
but they arn't a fashion no-no. they are very fashionable for say someone who wears cowboy boots.
I dont copy no one i make up my own style and i like to mix it up but if i were to were crotch crunchers and cowboy boots, (sarcastically) that rite there be for hillbillys, honkies, and tejano's
I say 'you guys' all the time. But then again, I'm not a native to Texas.
As for the the southern accent part....outside of saying y'all, I don't think I've met a native San Antonian that really had a southern accent. I notice it more in people that are from Houston and East Texas.
NO NO NO S y not you guys, ...."yous guys"
I think for me its also the whole "out in the country" thing. Like we are on the edge of the world or something. Although my wife and I both have family who are envious of Texas....because we have Sonic!![]()
I always thought "you guys" was a general saying that everyone uses. I use it too.
Damn it everyone says you guys.....Jersey people say.....YOUS Guys they put an s on you
I've never heard Jersey people particularly say "Yous Guys"
