I personally believe that the spurs should do their best to retain Robinson for one more season but for veteran minimum and then sign Van Exel if it is possible to the remaining LLE.
Van Exel could fill the pg position so that would also help for making a space for Brown or any other sg-sf with possibilities of coming to the team. That is one point in favor of Nick.

I think it's Finley at this point or Brown + Robinson. Big Dog fills in behind Bowen. I'm not convinced in any way the Spurs are interested in Van Exel.

Last I read, the Spurs and the Heat were the two most interested as reported by NVE's agent.

Now that's a scary thought. If Miami has NVE backing up Williams I think they will shored up what I believe was going to be their big weakness this year-the point guard. Add Finley at the back-up SG, and the team looks like

I don't know much about what the rest of the team will look like but if they land those two I think I'd have to pick them coming up out of the east.
Well Miami has already said that if they get Finley, then they are going after Van Exel. If they don't get Finley, then I guess they are supposed to re-sign Damon Jones.

I say that if San Antonio gets Finley they will have Van Exel almost in the team because we will still have the LLE. However, i don't know if signing Van Exel would be the best move if we get Finley.
I mean, Finley is a top class player so we should try to make him play the most minutes as possible.

During the playoffs with the spurs, and with Argentina he played point guard several times as well.
Brown is much younger so Finley would be signed to a shorter contract and then when he leaves we would still have Brown. Besides by signing Brown we don't lose neither the MLE or the LLE. Unless we get something in return Brown should stay as a spur.
I would rather sign Brown to a 2 millons contract with multiyears and trade Rasho for an expiring contract rather than nothing.
The Spurs have no intention of giving Devin a long term contract with his back problem.

Pop said that the Spurs getting Finley doesn't effect Van Exel or visaversa. He said if they get Finley, they won't re-sign Devin. But getting NVE doesn't effect signing Finley either way.
It is a official. NVE is a Spur.
