That was great, right down my alley and he was new to me , so thanks.
He does remind me of....
glad you liked it! This is my favorite by him but he has tons of good stuff
I don't feel like anything, the bottom line on these kinds of boards is do you make a difference? Obviously I make a difference.![]()
24k posts in two years i'd sure hope so
How in the am I just now finding out about this guy? In a word...WOW!!!!!! I loved that, that was outstanding. I'll be mixing his stuff in with Calvin Russell, Mark Lemhouse, Slaid Cleaves,Shawn Mullins and this guy....
awesome! he still tours, I have seen him a couple times in Austin. Once in a church and it was amazing.
Well one thing I don't do is go around entering others threads to bug them. Hmmmmm...ok a couple times.
So I need to add him to that list of Texas songsters, cool. I mentioned Russell and Hubbard, yep...Texas. Toss in some Steve Earle, Joe Ely, Doyle Brammall, Jerry Jeff Walker***, Jimmy Dale Gilmore.....nice.
*** I know, he wasn't from Texas, but did end up there.
that bruce burn song was badass!
Lots and lots of good blues players from Texas.
I discovered him on a compilation, yep...he stood out.
How's about....
While Mississippi is generally considered the birth place of them blues, the first real big male star of the music was a Texan.
And you cannot talk the origins of the "recorded" music without this tune....
Imagine it's one of those talent shows like....American Idol....and out walks this guy, he has a stole and guitar, so there he sits....
Not really into religious songs but love this.
