trade parker for mills tbh
Parker is a bit rusty, that's all
He usually plays ball during the off season, he needs a bit of time to shake the rust. Dat game was like 5 days after first two, people are looking too much into 3 games.
He had a pretty bad game TOs wise, happens tbh
He shoots the ball well, his speed is there, Spurs are 2-1... not sure what's the big deal

Harlem talking to himself again with his troll.
Agree on the 5 days of rest... I think that affects the vets more than anybody... I thought Gino looked rusty too.
Assuming this is not a rhetorical question, some wags on this forum started calling Tony that because they believe that he plays 'hero' ball (and apparently that is the name of character who is a hero somewhere). Hero ball generally refers to someone who jacks up and misses shots continually, trying to take over every game by himself in order to be 'the hero' of the game. In other words, volume shooters who don't have very good shooting percentages. The fact that the moniker is misapplied to Parker has absolutely zero bearing on any discussion in this forum.
One may reasonably ask, since Tony took only twelve shots total last night, which was the same number as did Tim Duncan and only two more than Kawhi Leonard did and Boris Diaw did, and that he made a higher percentage of his shots than Duncan, Leonard and/or Kawhi did, why that moniker is being used in THIS thread. But the answer is that for the Parker haters on this forum, nothing matters but the opportunity to trash TP.
And TP gave plenty of ammunition to trash him after last night's game. He had a wretched game from the standpoint of turnovers...wayyyyyy more than is characteristic of him, but it happened and he should be called to account for them. Whether or not you call him Enrique as you are calling him to account is another issue.
It is easy to criticize Parker's play last night from a turnover standpoint, but some of the same folks who accuse him of hero-baling are ing in this thread about him 'disappearing'
in the fourth quarter. So if he hadn't 'disappeared' ( he took no or few shots in the quarter) he would be accused of hero-balling.
Since all he did was have a terrible night with 7 turnovers while making a higher percentage of his shots than anyone who shot more than twice (Splitter), shared the highest scoring total for the team with Duncan, handed out 7 assists and played more minutes than anyone else on the team, he is predictably pilloried by the likes of Hairston, Lefty, Apilosic, etc. etc.
That is why he is called Enrique. Because if they didn't call him that, they would call him something much worse, because their hatred has nothing to do with basketball or teamwork and everything to do with something else.
^^^^just my thing, E-N. I don't call Manu turnobili and I don't call Parker enrique.
thanks mate!
and yet it wasn't in a game 6 Finals game....
It's not so much him jacking up shots, it's more of him killing the ball movement and ignoring his teammates especially his over dribbling, it kills the offense. Always good for RS games and non elite defenses in the playoffs, that's what most Spurs fans don't realize, Spurs have only won a championship once with TP hero balling, against Boobie Gibson (Kobe-esque performance of picking on someone inferior just to win FMVP tbh). Spurs do need his scoring, but they need him more as a facilitator, it took him having a severely sprained ankle for that to happen last year.
'07 The false MVP
'08 WCF loss against the Lakers
'09 1st round and out
'10 2nd round and out
'11 1st round and out
'12-The Messiah is drafted, but too green, WCF
'13-Finals, Enrique gets outplayed by Chalolmers.
'14-The true MVP is crowned
Omg POS Enrique can't lead
Net On/Off Numbers for the big three thus far:
+12.0 Duncan
+7.5 Manu
-11.1 Parker
Maybe we should call it a big two instead?
oh snap!
Hard to imagine Parker not being overpaid the last two years of his deal, he might be there next year
^ Truth nukes ^
Horrible start of the season for TP. The On/Off numbers are bad...like 2014-2015 Kobe levels of negative impact right now. Maybe Joseph should be the starting point guard for now:
+20.6 - Tiago
+16.5 - Timmy
+15.1 - Belinelli
+13.1 - Manu
+7.9 - Kawhi
+7.9 - Joseph
-1.0 - Baynes
-6.6 - Bonner
-8.5 - Boris
-20.1 - Errors
-22.0 - Green
-27.8 - Parker
In addition to Enrique, Green and Boris need to get their head out of their asses.
Yeah, I know. Watching last year's Finals the Spurs constantly made passes from the air. Can't believe Van Gundy and Mark Jackson weren't having fits about it.
I thought it was the big 4?
God bless he's terrible right now (mentally). Too much heroball.
