Maybe the the thread is simpleminded, but I do think there is a BIG difference between JFK and today's "progressives". If the Dems had candidates like JFK, I'd be a Democrat. I'm sure this thread doesn't articulate that idea in the best possible way, but it was just a topic of conversasion. I know I'm not the smartest person on this forum (I never assume I'm the smartest person --it's called humility).

My point wasn't to get him to stop writing his blog. You missed the point of what I was doing. I was leading aspie around by his nose. How do you think I got him to fill out the survey? My point was to embarrass him in the manner in which he had tried to embarrass those people by showing them he admitted to mental illness. Shame is a powerful motivator for the narcissist. It worked as he melted down and then left here -which was my goal- soon after. If I had told him to leave here as a condition then it wouldn't have worked. He really did have an axis disorder and they tend to fixate.

He also was a wit and accused people of pipe bombs and assorted terrorism despite the case being dismissed by summary judgment; I humiliated him to the point that he went back and edited all of his posts then left. I do feel bad about using my knowledge to trick him into filling out that psychological survey. You cannot link that because he edited it but I am sure you remember. I don't feel any remorse whatsoever from letting the people he wrote about know what he said nor making him go away. If that makes me an asshole then so be it.

I will say that your white knight routine defending that wit is fairly revealing as to your character. It's not like he wasn't mentally ill and using the internet to blog libel about those he considered his political opponents. He even went after me and you cheer him on all the while. Then again he is much like you in that he will deceive, mislead, and dissemble in order to influence other's political behavior regarding AGW. Funny that.

As for the substance of this post, it remains an attempt to categorize so as to marginalize and then blanket dismiss. It's dumbed down binary thinking and no , the democratic party has changed in 50 years and since the civil rights amendment. No kidding you would have voted for the democrats prior to the southern strategy. Who would've thunk it?

As others have stated: ty premise. Dumbing down the democratic party into two groups and waving your hands at issues and virtues that your find polarizing in modern context is self assuming nonsense but it allows you to basically say half of the democratic base is in the looney bin and thus their wants can be ignored. Much the same thinking is used to justify votes for poll taxes, reading tests, and voter ID laws on the eve of election. It's evil and yes I will continue to be a complete asshole to you.

Liberals support globalization and trade and see it as an opportunity for economic growth and also as an opportunity to boost labor and environmental standards in the Third World. Leftists hate trade because they think it’s all about the West raping the rest.
