Pink.
That quote was my signature on these forums for a couple of years.. I removed it this summer when the Spurs won the le...
OP sounds like a heat fan smh tbh
If u fell for this, you aren't paying attention. This thread has attention written all over it. Stupid.
After the 2011 season Pop said essentially the same thing to RC in telling him that "I can't go with this team as is - I have no bench".
Timmy got the message about reworking his diet and training, RC got the message about getting the team some help, so things changed.
But in the summer of 2011 - Parker's comments were the same ones his coach was making, only Pop said it internally.
Such stupidity for opening a thread with a quote from 2011 as though it had just been said. That statement has been quoted by Parker haters on this forum for the last three years.
Another quote is that Tony told Timmy after they lost in 2012 "I promise we will get to the finals next year" - and he delivered on the promise. They didn't win the le, but how many people honestly believed at the start of the 2012-2013 season that the Spurs had a shot at the le that year.
Relax, Harlem's just trolling.![]()
OP's logic = a 4-year old article is relevant to the 2014-2015 season.
I think the spurs can compete for a le this year, imo.
Hahahahahaha!!! Check da date
Some people knew.
No. No they didn't.
Not one of that Harlem's finest moments tbh...
although somehow still got nibbles![]()
After that Grizzlies series I thought it was over.
It's a no brainer in retrospect (and possibly for both teams). Spurs knew they had topped out with Hill ... Duncan looked old and they couldn't defend 3's. Grabbing a guy in the draft that filled this need was riskier, but there was way more upside there. Hill played the same position as our best player (at the time) and was about to hit restricted FA.
The Pacers added Hill to supplement length at the wings and create one of the best defensive forces in the league. Didn't need Kawhi because they had someone of a similar mold in George. The team came pretty close to knocking off the Heat.
In retrospect, it looks like a total ripoff - particularly with the Hill contract - but can see what they were each doing at the time.
You have to understand that when he said this he thought he was going to be the leader of the Spurs for the foreseeable future. He knew that if that was the case then the team had no chance. This is why so many posters here hate on Manu: they wish he was as honest as Tony.
the Spurs did get back to thier winning ways after that comment.
Parker got Pop and RC to get off thier ass and look for help.
Props to parker for speaking the truth.
