I wouldn't trade Kawhi for any of the bolded players. Lilliard is exciting, has a few clutch moments to his name, and a fine scoring PG, but end of the day, he's a PG, and they can only impact the game so much. LMA is a below average defender at his position and is allowing his counterpart to shoot nearly 50% while he shoots 46%. Pau Gasol is 34. Enough said. And Marc is something of a relic in today's NBA. It's no wonder he slimmed down to keep up with the speed of the modern game. The trade off is that his defense seems to be suffering, as he ranks 24th among centers in DRAPM. Beal and Wall are totally unproven and not even worth mentioning.

Meanwhile, Leonard is 2nd in RAPM among small forwards, which is the deepest position talent wise in the NBA. He's the best overall rebounding small forward and perimeter defender in the league. He's also turning into a capable passer now.

Pretty clear cut case for top 15 player. Really no argument against it.

Cousins yes, but Griffin hasn't shown enough potential on the defensive end to make that call imo.

I like Kawhi, but that's definitely a homer call.

I had my doubts about how good of a scorer he could be at first, but as Duncan/Manu retire and Parker declines even more I think he'll be a 20 ppg guy fairly soon. I see him playing some point forward too. Add to that the fact that he's the best defender and rebounder at the SF position and I just think that's more valuable than guys like Griffin/Cousins who really aren't dominant defenders.

We'll see though there's always a chance I could end up being wrong when defenses focus their entire attention on him tbh.

No matter what happens from now on, Kawhi has won a FMVP and have proven himself to be the best playoff performer in the last three years..He is a true winner.
