I don't think that Kawhi playing lots of minutes with the second unit has anything to do with compatibility or lack thereof with Tony or anybody else. It has to do with the fact that he is only 23 years old and didn't play for tons of the first part of the season due to pink-eye and hand bruises. Thus he should have the energy and stamina to play more minutes than any of the other starters, frankly, and he is just about the ONLY defensive presence in the second unit.
He was injured last season, too, but the last two games he played the whole first quarter when he never did it last years. Maybe Pop wants he play with the 2nd unit not only because his defense but also because he can get more touches with the bench.

It is notable that Kawhi got his career high in threes in a game where we looked more like last season's Spurs than we have all year. That being said, he got them because he wasn't playing iso ball (posting up in the low post or driving into the paint himself). He was scoring as the 3 position normally does within the Spurs offensive sets, i.e., as a spot up three point shooter who gets the ball after a guard has penetrated into the paint, draws the defense, and then kicks it out to the perimeter. Then, when his defense creates shots for himself or others he can score non-traditionally in transition or however the play develops from a defensive steal or rebound.
But you know Kawhi isn't a true shooter like Danny or Marco. We can't develop a player like him just expecting he can get a rebound or a steal to score...

This team need to improve him offensively and build around his strengths, the spot-up shooter isn't his game.

He has a good matchup in the post against almost all our rivals in the West, it wouldn't be very smart not exploit it. But in order to be successful doing that he needs the reps even if they don't look nice to watch.

You keep saying this, but I feel some tension coming from this.

Kawhi has been playing extended minutes this year with the 2nd unit and it's one of the main reasons why he's averaging 18PPG in the last two months....

    That's an obvious observation...

EVAY thinks spot shooting for kawhi is going to help us in the POs and not his post game.
Maybe we looked better this game because wade and that hassem guy weren't playing and the heat overall are and parker wasn't playing like a little .

Old, broke D-Wade would have macerated Beli's tomatoes.
You can only play Beli against a second unit where you can hide a wing. Thank god we have Green and Kawhi to pair him with.

I do love that Green is finally getting accolades for supplanting Wade as the top guard at blocking shots in the league.

Yes, I supposed it is possible that some may use coffee thinking it is a diuretic; but they would be wrong. It is the same as drinking the same amount of water:

Anyway, a water diet is stupid. Your energy levels will crash, especially exercising.
I think you can use it to give you the s, which would really make it easy, you'd be expelling mostly water weight through diarrhea. But Idk not gonna look too much into this lol.

You are such a ing re . No wonder you swallow Apa's in every thread.
You need time off for your body to recover properly as well as mentally. Diaw is fatigued, and the affects will linger until he is rested.

If you've ever trained for long periods of time you'd know what that feels like, but you don't lol.

Coffee can be used as a diuretic to help aid in expelling water weight, you can shed upwards of 20+lbs of water weight, may be what he's doing/did...
Coffee (caffeine) is also an appe e suppressant.

I played football, basketball and baseball through high school. But wishing an injury on someone and thinking that will resurect their games shows why you never played though.

School sports? I'm talking about real sports that require year round training, such as pro basketball. You can get injured numerous ways lol, doesn't mean you have to snap your arm in half.

When you're fatigued like that you feel it every day, you feel tired, lazy, body aches, you lack energy, you're mentally out of it. If an injury means rest for Diaw, I'm all for it, because I really doubt Pop is going to rest him. Maybe the all star break will do him good.

pop has said he wanted to give leonard more responsibility but he keeps getting hurt
heck he has missed 2 training camps

pop will find more ways to use him with the bench but leonard is young and people want him to play big minutes let him play more minutes with the bench and play him 40 minutes a night

None, I used to box as an amateur which required me to maintain my weight and shape year round and go through various grueling workouts that drained me.

    That's awesome bro..

I tried boxing for a few months but my lower body was so weak I got knockd out out three times on my first spar..All body shots.

But Boxing workouts are amazing, I quit because I didn't find fun in sparring matches...

lol yeah I haven't boxed for a while, too many headaches and hand injuries, it took a lot out of me. Boxing is insanely hard, most difficult sport on earth. Hated not being able to eat what I want too, Whataburger used to haunt me.
