I doubt the refugees gave a damn whether PJ's was doing it out of the kindness of their hearts.

thats why I was stuck with Dominos! glad to see Papa john's can meet my online needs!

Yeah, but you can't order anything Deep Dish or extra on any of the specials without calling anyway.

I was laughing the last time I ordered it...I told User..."Damn...I actually had to call it in. That was weird, I almost forgot what I was supposed to say..."

And I'm sure they didn't give a if PJ's were doing it for advertising, either. What's your point?

I don't care how they look at it...as long as they aren't hungry anymore.

Props, either way. It's probably a little bit of cheap advertising mixed with good hearted people trying to make a difference.

At least the people are getting food now. Can't complain about that, especially seeing how those still in NO are being treated.

Why not? If I had been stuck in that nasty environment for this long and unable to bathe....I'd kill for even a little freshness.

I'm always a cynic to "donations" like this. If it was out of the good of your heart, why name the business? Just deliver the pizzas.

100K pizzas is a cheap price to pay for the type of publicity Papa John's is getting.

It don't matter. They helped people. That's what matters. They didnt' have to.

I guess you don't like it when they announce stuff like:

    $17mil from Wal-Mart
    100,000 from HEB
    Nissan donating vehicles

    and so forth.

I don't think it is a problem whatsoever. It is just the networks announcing donastions with nothing premeditated like you suggest.

I'm a pretty cynical guy, but 100,000 pizzas, 100 jobs for people who have nothing, and putting your employees to work in the name of charity is pretty remarkable to me. If you give the people of New Orleans a bunch of pizzas with no name of course they'll be glad as after what they've been through, but to give them a brand that they pay good money for at home has to be nicer. To have that brand name and know they're getting quality has to be good for something. That brand name tells people that.

100,000 pizzas is $1 million if they could have sold those. This is no drop in the bucket or small-time thing to get your name on tv... 100,000 pizzas is a of a commitment from a company that could have gotten the same airtime for delivering 5,000 of them.

Besides, I haven't seen a Papa Johns commercial where they're self-fellating over their donation.
