You cannot rely on the government.

If you do, you will be dissapointed.
If you are referring to Iraq, I agree with you. All politics aside, of course.

A conservative believes in limited government, that rather than micromanaging the affairs of the country, it should be left to tackle the truly big things, like, um, gee, I don't know, NATURAL DISASTERS.

If it can't do that, then we might as well be anarchists and have no government above the local level.

i will say this all those unfortunates in la will sure look to the gov for a lot now. u can bet that at least 50% of the people will say they deserve millions of dollars and thats gonna suck because i can see it now everyone trying to file a lawsuit for the gov being unprepared, biased, etc. lawyers comming out from every where.

everyone loses in this the people in coastal towns and all the that goes back into the ocean.

at least no is still there, you can see it. how about the other cities that were hit dead on, those are gone, literally gone.

the whole city screwed up from the gov to the people, they had 5 days to get thier together and nothing happened. buses should have been ready to go

Actually I think the real moral of this situation is, we have very little control over anything in this life, that life is short and very precious and it shows the reality of how easily everything we know, our way of life can come crashing down like that, and there is nothing we can do about it.

It shows how we live our lives everyday, taking it for granted not taking the time to realize how blessed we really are.I really pity the people suffering through this, two weeks ago they were living normal lives dealing with the difficulties in their everyday lives as we all do, some taking it for granted or some focusing on things in their lives they didn't have much substance, and then this hits, and their lives are shattered and will never be fully mended again. To suffer through that, watch people die, to watch your loved ones starve and go without water...well that's something that would ruin me for the rest of my life.

I think the real moral of this is, life is short and very precious and tomorrow isn't promised. We should take this time to love everyone we have in our lives now while we can, and we not focus on the negative, blind and cynical things not waste time on petty things, because well who knows one day it could be you going through this, one day it could be us all, and I would hate think I wasted all the precious time till that point on things that well in the end don't have much significance. So till then I'll enjoy my family, my friends, my loved ones, and count myself to be blessed that my life is how it is today, anyways maybe the real moral of the story is I need more sleep and am making no sense so I'm going back to bed,

    Be Blessed all of you.

Its true of ANY government. Govt= problems=time

Obviously im not talking about the elderly, or the sick in hospitals.

Im talking about joe schmo, and anyone that heard the hurricane was coming.

If a cat 5 is coming. GET OUT.

Common sense. Everything depends on you, not the govt. Rely on yourself, not someone else.

So you watched the O'Reilly Factor last night too, huh?

    yeah i did.

    He was exactly right too.

Alot of people on here dont watch him, and I felt his message needed to be repeated.

I also like how hes gonna track where the money is going in all the donations.

He did for 911 and found out the actors and all them who raised the money, the money wasnt going to the right places and such.

If you ask me, this whole debacle is an argument against state's rights. I think we should revoke Louisiana's immediately.
