When I was like 8/9 I used to be a Pacers fan. Jordan was the best but I was a little contrarian and thought Reggie was better just bc he could shoot from further. I got a Pacers mini bball as a gift shortly after which solidified my fandom. Now I cant stand Reggie tbh.

As a kid, it was kind of hard being a Spurs fan in the mid-90s. It seemed like most games were on PPV, barely anyone had cable unless you had an illegal cable box and Bulls, Pacers, and Knicks games were constantly on NBC and TBS. Lots of Jazz and Supersonics games back then too, I remember rooting for the Sonics.

Since we are on the subject. When I was 9/10 I used to root Seattle Supersonics. That was like 95.
Shawn Kemp and GP, Hersey Hawkins was nice as well. That team was very nice. I remember Nate Mcmillan as well in his playing days. Big Smoth had a of a stroke for a big man as well, very very good team who made the finals once but it seemed were always a contender around that time and won a ton of games.

I can't stand Reggie either, when he became an announcer that did it for me. He is a Spurs hater and you can just tell, jealous he never got a ring TBH.

    I loved that Sonics team.

They have Mexicans in Scotland? Britain should have welcomed secession in that case then.

I still love Gary Payton. My favorite PG of all time. And imo the most underrated. I never understood the Jason Kidd hype. I would take Gary Payton any day of the week over him.

Oh yeah, Gary Payton in his prime was better, easily. I agree 100% on this. Kidd was great at passing and boarding but a horrible shooter early on his career and shot a very low%, his O was severely limited. GP could pass the ball well and score and play some lights out defense, he gave Jordan all kinds of problems in the finals one year and I think Mike admitted later he was a great defender in which it was hard to get compliments from him. He held Mike to 42% shooting in those finals or near that, that was unheard of and his worst finals to date. GP was great.

I used to be a Bulls fan (Jordan really), then Spurs fan for a year thanks to Sean Elliott, then a Sixers fan because of Iverson then a Spurs fan again when Manu came on board. And now I'm pretty sure I will remain a Spurs fan for life thanks to Spurstalk.
