What other player in the NBA would write up what the team is going through? Just awesome insight always.

Great read. Thanks for the translation, Nono.

Agreed that Manu is always paying attention to how the team is doing. And he was right in his observation that, outside of Tim, everyone else was playing not so great.

I also agree with him that other teams have younger, hungry and occasionally more talented players than we do, and that has to make it harder. I was glad to hear him say that a repeat is a monkey they don't need, but playing as well as they did last year is a worthy goal. Thing is, it is harder to play that way against younger, hungry and occasionally more talented teams.

    Porker in 2011:

“We will always have a good team but we can no longer say that we’re playing for a championship.”
And it was absolutely true that the 2011 team, as cons uted, never played for a championship. It was after that season that Pop went to RC and said "I don't have a bench....I have to have a bench".

And it wasn't until our bench got demonstrably better that the team that had a good bench played for a championship.

Watching spurs last games I do think they are trying to play the Finals 2014 way. Which is not really a good idea since they got to the finals playing a different way.

Imo they need to go back n play pre finals way

Yeah agree with this. Their strategies seem to change series to series and they adapted to who they played. I think the big numbers that stand out and why they aren't whee they were last year is the 3 point category, even though they've generated more open looks this year than last. They just haven't made them. However the missed threes really feels like in a certain game where you say "they aren't going to shoot like that all game" and eventually the law of averages averages out.
